Lower the rear tire pressure to like 28psi and raise the front tire pressure to like 45psi. If you can take off the front sway bar endlinks. Or take off the whole bar completely O_o

With that mph you should be in the 14s easy. But yeah, Chris' (Revlimit) idea with the tire pressure should help you out. You have to try & finesse the car off the line & gradually get the car going before stomping on it with street tires, but it's sooooo hard to do that when you are at the line & your heart is pumping yea!!!
But, that was a good first run & just keep at it!

hehe thanks chris and anthony, ill take that into account. so, into the 14s eh? is that bad for a L98 (the mph), all i know is that theyre supposed to be mid-low 14s witha good driver hehe im a crappy driver though... just wondering if anythings seriously wrong with the car.

What was your 60' time? If that's really high but you trap good MPH, then it's just a traction issue, which can easily be fixed. At least, that's what I've been told by many people. I've never actualy dragged my car at the track yet. (But I have dragged my muffler... does that count?)

I'm guessing your 60' time was around 2.3-2.6 seconds. Correct me if I'm wrong. That seems about right just by the way you described how you launched. That is where you need to work the most at & when you improve, watch your E.T. go down! And, mid 14s with low 90mph is about right for an average L98. When I had my 88 IROC, I ran 14.6 all night long & I had about 114,000 miles on the motor & bone stock. Just had a flowmaster on it.

Work on lowering that 60' time & 14s will be at your door

I'll be heading there either this friday or saturday. Hopin' for 14's, expecting 15's....

I might have my cousin drive my maxima there also... curious what that'll run.

Hey Keola, what's been done to your current car?

And what tires are you running now?

So far the 92 z28 is pretty much a stock L98, just has straight pipe exhaust, no cats, muffler. Has a oil cooler, and thats about it as far as i know.

Im running brand new 245/50/16 goodyear tires (not sure what kind, iforget name ill go check).

yup 2.629 pretty lame 60ft haha, idk i got antsy and just mashed the pedal to the floor, instant tirespin, and sliding left to right down the track.

one thing i found to be funny was that when i took my car in to my uncles shop to check on the oil leak, my uncles mechanic recognized the car instantly as one that he rebuilt about a year ago, for the previous owner, said he redid all the gasket work on the topside of the motor(intake tb, etc.) , as the previous owner was paranoid about the temp of the car when it ran to like 220, (my uncles mechanic told him that the fans kick in there and it should cool down but the dude was super paranoid anyway) So that explained the aftermarket oil and transmission cooler. He then told me that i could shave a few tenths if we played around with the timing a bit...(not too sure what its set at now)

Stock should be 0 when you disconnect that wire connection near the p/s firewall(not sure what that connection is actually called lol!)

I know my LO3 liked a little bit more timing but I'm not sure about your L98. Couldn't hurt to try though. Just try advancing it about 2-3 more degrees.

Quite a few people, including myself, set L98 timing at 8-degrees with 91 octane.

Hey Keola, my first run the other night was worse than yours in every category.

I need more practice and more adjustments but my car's doin' alright. When are you thinking about headin' there next? We need to have a grudge race! I was racin' imports all night.

This past saturday? Damn, I was planning to go....

I'm going this saturday (28th) unless something comes up.

My first run had a 1.6 reaction... and the rest of the run doesn't get any better. I think it was a 16.1 at 90 mph. Got the hang of it for my next couple though.
