Considering selling the "cama-roku"...

How much do you think someone would pay for it? Full suspension (when I say full I mean full), straight frame and body, full interior, 350 motor with around 380hp, SS rims, etc.

Right now is a bad time to sell a V8 because of gas prices.

I can't see gas prices ever coming down to any serious degree. Besides, most buyers should be more interested in how many MPG the car gets, instead of how many cylinders.

The approach to selling an older, "performance mileage" 4-barrel car is to stress that although it gets 15 mpg and a newer sports car gets 30 mpg, the Camaro costs $30,000 less to purchase -- and you can buy a bunch of gas for $25K...

Dooooooon't sell it man! You put too much time & money into it already. Keep her!..............but, if you still wanna sell it & would rather part it out, I'd be interested in the entire T-56 setup

Haha...honestly a couple of things have brought me to this...that long break I took kinda made me not think about drifting to much. the last event I went to...I drifted like complete crap. And all these new kids with all this money are whopping my ***. Really shot me down and what not...I don't know I might keep it. If someone was willing to pay at least what I'm looking for (though I'm guessing I couldn't get) I'd sell it.

I was thinking you'd need to get at least $5-6K to make your money back and I honestly think its gonna be hard to find the right buyer right now in Hawaii. Its gonna be someone thats into racing, but with the situation of the tracks closing next year, this makes it even harder. Higher gas prices is also a factor. Did you know there are only 2 more Drift Sessions? They aren't gonna have it next year even while the track is still open for however many months... really sucks. I think your best bet is E-Bay to tell you the truth, more likely you'll find someone on the mainland that could use the car at their local track and is willing to pay the price you want. Maybe you could do something like have the price include shipping to Cali and then set the reserve $800 higher. Your car has alot of good mods. I would recommend a cheapo $299 paintjob before selling too, makes a difference to most buyers.

Sad to see you selling the car, but you gotta do what you gotta do ...

I'm still battling with myself over it...honestly I think I might keep it haha. honestly one reason I was considering selling it was to get a new bike and what not. But now I'm falling more and more in love with the bike I already have. Plus I don't really want to sell my baby "cama-roku" haha. Sad to hear about drift session....I guess when my money flow gets better (soon to be a dept. manager) I'll bring that bad boy back to the streets wehre it belongs

Maybe you need some inspiration! I just picked up Season 2 of "Rides" DVD and it has an hour of D-1 drifting with the top Japanese teams and building/running the Pontiac GTO. Also has lots extra of interviews and footage that wasn't shown on TV.

You and Shawn should come on over, have some brews and watch this stuff. Even if Hawaii is stupid enough not to have someplace offroad to drift, you've put a lot of time and effort into a great hotrod Camaro worth keeping.

the only thing about the 299 paintjob is that it never turns out to be 299, most of the time they completely refuse to give your car that 299 paintjob... they say "i won't put that on your car, its against my ethic" or somethin of the sorts. I guess best thing to do is post it on islandpreviews and see if anyone bites, if not, try ebay like shawn said. If you clean her up good, it shouldn't be too hard to get 5k maybe 6k out of it, given the t56 etc.

if it influences you at all.. keep it and keep drifting it! you and crazyhawaiian are the only thirdgen guys seriously into drifting, and it'd be a shame to see you quit doing it. I had only been fooling around in parking lots, but now that I've got a 350/t56 and some of the bugs worked out, I plan on getting better... and i definitly have to say that you guys were quite inspiring to me. I mean, its entirely your decision, and if it makes more sense then do it, but I think it would be a shame.
