hi i was wondering if someone could help me i have a 700R4 with about 135xxx miles on it also go a shift kit inside. when i gas it it feels like theres a lag going into first gear and its not as snappy as it used to be. also when i start it up it surges a lot from like 500 rpms-1500 rpms. anybody have any idea of what could be wrong? could the trans be going on me?

 

It sounds more like you need a tuneup, unless the engine is revving and the car isn't moving...

 

torque converter could be on its way out.

 

What's the condition of the fluid?

If its surging at idle then I would suspect something is up with the engine. When this happens at low RPM's are you in gear or does it also happen when you're in park/neutral? No SES light right?

 

Have you tried adjusting your tv cable??

its torque converter locking ,on and off g.m found out about this problem and released a new eprom for all cams/birds that elimanates this problem ,its not shifting like it shoud because the converter is not operating properely .so go to gm give them your vin and get the chip it elimanates the surging ,lock up problem and gear hunting ,i know because im a service tech at a chevy dealer ,and the chip is cheap about 50 bucks
