Re: hey
the rims on the car are original, so i think they are stock 14s.

Yo wassup man. Welcome to the Pacific Region board. Not too many frequent here now but we pop in once in a while.

How bad is the rust & where is it? I'm guessing rust along the a pillars, possibly roof along the drip rails, & the bottom of the doors. Am I right?

Re: hey
thanks. the rust from what ive seen so far is surface rust. most of which like you said is on the roof a nd surrounding areas. also just surface spots along the fenders and rear. sadly theres also a dent in the drivers door and rear quarter.

you guys know any places that might help me out with room to work or tools? i would be alot more productive, but i live in an appartment and dont have my old job of working at a machien shop.

thanks.

ill post pics of it later. suprisingly the only problem is the paint. the int is near perfect, and the 305 drives hard.

Re: hey
Cool. Are you in the military, have a military civilian job, or know someone in the military? The only places that I can think of that might be good for your situation are the military hobby shops. They have the facilities & tools for rent to do your car projects.

i go to HPU downtown Honolulu, but my dad was in the airforce so i think i get privlages until im out of college. i just need to get a current military ID when i swing home for a few weeks.

is there anyone out there with a military id that knows the junk yards around the island? i havent checked, but i loved yards in So. Cal. so i can only hope they will suffice here.

Re: hey
The only military junkyard that I really enjoyed is the Schofield one. It's pretty big (for Oahu), & they use to pull out the car for me & place it on blocks if I needed to grab stuff out of it from underneath (ex.-trans). They were always a big help for me whenever I went. And sometimes the Fort Shafter Junkyard, although small, has some good stuff....not always though.

Oh yeah, I'm not military by the way. I use to get in through my dad. He's a retired civilian worker from Pearl Harbor.

Unfortunately, junkyards here aren't that great, but I hope that some of this info helps!

Re: hey
Too bad yoiu didnt check on here sooner, could have sold you mine for a decent price. 91 RS with the Z28 hood and spoiler on it. 305 with a 5 speed. Anyhow if you know anyone looking for one, this one runs good just a couple tires maybe and then you can get the safety done lemme know.

Re: hey
I replied to your PM about tires. I work on base but last time I tried to get in the J/Y by myself they gave me a hard time. Need a Military ID, my ID does not have enough mana. So if you can get your own Military ID then you can go. The prices at the J/Y's on base are the best on the island. And you can also probably use the Hobby Shop if you got a Military ID, can pay a fee to store the car there while working on it. Sorry but I can't help anyone with paint/body, not my thing. Would come out worse than when you started. hahahaha
