Solid Roller 383 Lt1
Solid Roller 383 Lt1
OK guys this is my personal motor.First a fast run through on the history.
I built this motor and put it in my car.The car had 3 or 4 trips on it from the house to the shop.I put it on the dyno and leaned out number 8.We took this motor out and replaced number 8 piston and number 6 piston.Even though everything was new we reringed it,put new cam bearings, new rod bearings, new main bearings, and did a new valve job on the heads.Number 8 was resleeved.
So basicaly this already new motor is BRAND NEW again.
The car was a 700 r4 with a 9 inch. The motor is built for nitrous. On motor with a three step colder plug it put out right under 400hp and 400 torque.
On a 200 shot it put down 622hp and 735 foot pounds of torque. We skiped to the 400 shot and the right bank went lean.
The motor was built by Bernard Racing Engines ( A freind of Mine)
So here is a run through on the motor. With a estamite on what the parts were.
Machine shop cost.. around 1300

This motor is also ole ringed.
The motor is still at the machine shop getting put together.I got the stupid idea of parting this car out and buying a vette. Then I ended up converting it into a LS1 car.I wish I would have stayed with this LT1 set up but I am to commited at this point.
If you want to by a really nice motor with out all the wait of the machine shop and no Core charge this is the one to buy.Im sure I have left some thing out but I tried to cover it for the most part.
I know there is more stuff missing but basically to build this motor with core you are going to have right under 8,000 in it.
Ill take 6,000 for it.Valve covers, Oil pan,and timing chain cover included.
This is a good deal

This motor is streetable. However it is on the border line of running regular fuel.It is 12.5.1 compression.I could run it on 93 but there is no way I would have sprayed it on 93.The car seem to really like a 104 and 93 octain mix.
I built this car as a street car. We have built several motors that are 12.51 compression that the guys only run 93 octain.
