I have a used short block, mileage unknown (came in project car I bought). It was running great though... I bought it, drove it home 20 miles, and played with it some on that trip... I have a video of the engine running just before it got pulled if you'd like to see that...
By researching the casting numbers, I found that it was originally a GM Goodwrench Crate engine with 250hp/350ft-lbs built in the 90's as a replacement engine for mid-late 80's pickups... I have since tore down the engine but the short block remains intact, with cam, timing set, and damper still installed...
It is a 4-bolt main block, 350 cubic inches, part # 10066034, casting # 10066036, with 2 piece rear main seal.
It contains the following:
--Crankshaft part # 3932444; nodular Iron 1985 and older flywheel bolt pattern
--Powdered Metal Connecting rods Part # 10108688
--Cast Aluminum Pistons part # 12514101
--Hydralic Flat tappet Camshaft Part#3863151; Intake Lift-.383" Exhaust Lift-.401" (I believe this is with 1.5's); Intake Duration @ .050"- 194 Exhaust Duration @.050"- 202; Lobe Seperation-112 with mechanical fuel pump lobe
--Block is drilled for both L.H. and R.H. dipsticks. Plug is installed on passenger side, dipstick was on drivers
I prefer to have this picked up, but will work with you on shipping if so desired, but it will probably be pricy...
I'm located about 5 miles east of Nashville, TN, so not TOO far from you...
Let me know what you think... I was looking to get $350 for the assembled short block, or $200 for the bare block...

understood...
sorry, i'm not familiar with what the block differences are between a roller vs. non roller block...
I assumed you would just swap the cam out for a roller cam and use roller lifters instead of flat tappet lifters...
good luck with your search...

Hey there, I have a L98 short block for sale. I got it back when I had a L03, but since I got my 91 Z I really don't need it. It is a roller block with everything from oil pan, to lifters. I am in the Florida panhandle, so if you feel like making a road trip it wouldn't be too far. Let me know and I can email you more details.

I have a 1987 350. I am just south of Charlotte, NC. The car had 130K miles on it when I bought it and parted it. I don't know how it ran before other than the guy that sold it to me saying that it ran good. He had an electrical problem with the car and couldn't get it to run properly. I didn't care since I was going to part it anyway. It looks clean-- I pulled and sold the TPI setup. The lefter valley is real clean no sludge. I would like $300 for it. If interested email me. piedmontfbody@aol.com
