Hey guys i'm looking for a short throttle cable for a carburetor. I am also looking for the VSS and buffer box for an electric speedo swap.

Justin, would a TBI cable work?.....also whats a VSS and Buffer box ?...I was the guy who sent the WW squirters no charge...remember? Dean

 

yes sir I remember.

The VSS is the sender that goes into the trans. It has the gears on it and then sends the electric signal for the speed to the buffer box. This box translates the signal so that it can be routed to the speedo so that it will work properly. Is the TBI the cross fire? or is it just a electric carb? If its not the crossfire then it should work. I appreciate the feedback!

So the VSS is in(on) the tranny, and the Buffer box is located where? Sorry for the dumb questions.
The cable is off an 87 Formula.."E" code...TBI.....so that should work. I don't have a VSS presently... I am doing a tranny swap in a few weeks, will have one then if you don't find it sooner.....may have a Buffer box, just tell me what and where to look.

 

Ya the VSS is on the drivers side in the tailshaft if i'm correct. I think the buffer box is under the dash some where. The best bet would be to follow the wire coming off of the VSS sender on the trans and see where it is going.

 

Its under the dash by the ECM! yellow box. Hope this helps. I do need the throttle cable though. shoot me a pm
