wtb: Non working Camaro cassette deck

I'm looking for the basic Camaro cassette deck. It doesn't need to work. I'm not really willing to pay much, but if you're going to throw it away I'll pay for shipping plus a couple bucks. I want to hack one up for a project, so whether it works is of no concern to me. I would like for it to be in good visible condition with no missing ***** or buttons, and no major visible wear.

Thanks.

I have a few GM radios laying around. But I'll have to check to see if they have the cassette or not. They might be basic ones only, no cass.

The basic non-cassette radio is fine with me too, just as long as all of the ***** and buttons are the same as what originally came in thirdgen Camaros. I've got a couple GM radios, but they have all the chrome buttons & *****, which means most likely they came out of an Olds or Buick, not a Chevy.

Well, I found one that is a cassette. I think it was out of my friends 94 Buick. If it works for you, make me an offer. Few bucks and shipping is fine. I'll never use it anyway lol. Don't need a radio in a race car lol.

I'm making a dummy face plate for my stereo. Here's how it is right now. If you look closely, you can see that what I'm using now is a Pontiac radio instead of a Chevy one:

They're black. Everything on it is.

I was going to do the same thing you are if I left my Firebird streetable. Might do it with my Mustang instead though.

I already know how it'll end up. As you can see from the pics, I've already done this once.

It's not extremely difficult, but it takes a while.

The first time I did it, I took a grinder to the radio plate, and had very uneven edges.

The second time, I took a grinder to the backside of the radio plate until the bumps lines were ground smooth, then used a razor and a straight edge to cut through the front panel. The result was much straighter.

Other than that, it's just a matter of taking everything apart until you're down to the bare plastic panel, doing the grinding/cutting, then glueing the pieces on. For the back side I ground it all as smooth as I could and installed some black felt.
