it's still the same main bracket, the new bracket attaches to the main bracket and to the backside of the alternator, this is to help get rid of bracket flexing, i have the bracket, but have not installed it yet, also the bracket is for the D1sc kits, i don't know if there is anything for the P-series kits...

Hey Larry,

The new bracket works great... really stiffens up the whole thing. I wonder what the two holes along the length of the bracket are for????

Larry and I both have the D1SC kit. Today, this kit comes with an 8-rib belt and pullies. We were two of the first three to purchase this kit when it was released, about 1-1/2 years ago. At that time, the D1SC kit came with a 12-rib setup which we both have. The additional support bracing was not part of the kit at the time. It was designed and produced about six months ago.

I can't post a pic -- can't seem to get a hold of the digital from work..... but I'll do the next best thing, which is describe it.

There is a bolt on the back of the alternator (towards the firewall) which is used to bolt a brace that runs down to an exhaust manifold bolt. This bolt is replaced with a stud. The stud is used for the original brace and the new ATI brace. The ATI brace is positioned between the alternator and compressor and is bolted to the blower bracket with two bolts. It is a very rigid brace.

Once I get the digital from work, I'll snap some shots.

One of ATI's techs (Dorian) hooked Willie and I up with the brackets after we received ours kits, so i don't have a part number, but call ATI and tell them what bracket that you want and if they don't have a clue what your talking about, send them that picture (i think everyone at ATI has their own e-mail there.)

The two holes are there for when they profile the bracket. They bolt it down using those holes.

Yea. I got one of those brackets too.

Willie recommended that I get it back when he was still talking to me.

If you would like to get one, best bet is to talk to Dorian.

This is not a standard item in the kit.
