Total Seal Rings and N2O

I know it is not recommended, but has anyone tried running a mild shot of Nitrous Oxide (75 - 100 HP) while utilizing Total Seal's "gapless" rings? If anyone has attempted this, did your piston rings hold up to the extra cylinder pressure????? :nono: :nono:

First let me start out by saying that I think those rings are great, but there is a documented tendancy on boosted or juiced applications of cylinder pressure building between the rings faster than it can vent out causing a pressure that pushes up on the top ring and down on the bottom ring. At the least what you get is a distorted ring land at worst you get a piston that siezes in the bore from ring lock similar to an undergapped set of rings and any kind of ring lock can be catastrophic. here is a picture of our results (we didnt belive them ) we foundout for ourselves.

I like it because there is no other explanation as to how the top land could be pushed up and the second land coud be pushed down. We were told this would happen, we didn't listen, it happened. clear case of cause and effect.

gapless rings

The total seal rings you used were they the street rings or the file fit race rings? I wonder about the new top gapless ring they offer would solve that problem?

DARCOM thanks. Think I will run mine as well, I like the design better. Mine are file fit and I will gap a bit larger for the boost.
