Turbo and compression
Turbo and compression
I'm currently running a blower with about 7.5psi on stock compression. (9:3).
Have any of the turbo guys here run their turbo(s) on the stock bottem? If so, how long did it last?
Eventually I know i will have to do a piston swap. Should I go flat and forged?

I went to forged JE 22cc dished pistons. They're just too beautiful to install

I was running my twin turbo setup on the stock L98 for 2 years. When I pulled the engine last winter, I tore it apart, and nothing was wrong. All the ring lands were in one piece, cylinder walls looked good, no cracking, etc. This was with 5 psi non-intercooled and 8 psi intercooled. As long as you make sure to *never* get detonation, you'll be fine. Run rich (11.5 to 12:1 or so) and conservative timing, and you'll be set for a while
The new engine will have custom JE pistons - 27.5 cc inverted dish, 1.151" compression height for a .038 quench, and 8.25:1 compression. max boost will be 25 psi
