I got lucky! got a turbo!

I was rootin through the dump today and found a stack of cars. i popped the hood on a chrysler van i saw it said tubo. i got the turbo off it and its home now but what else will i need to hook it up to my firebird. I know i'll need a custom header, but thats no problem i just need to know how to get it working, or what else i need to get off the van. BTW; its a mitsubishi turbocharger.

Your gonna need a second turbo. That little mitz is designed for a 2.2L, your 305 is way to large.

You definatly need a second turbo. Make sure to get an identical turbo, not something sized differently.

what if i put it on my cavalier wagon 2.2 ahahah. I am not sure if i would really want to turbo my 305, i am afraid i might loose it. whats a safe psi setting go go with? Getting a second one wouldn't be too hard, but then i would make that one on the other side right?

Owning a couple dodge daytona shelby Z's, from what I hear the mistu. turbos are much worse(not prefered) to the garrett turbos that came in those cars. I would say don't use it for you firebird at all regardless of set up.(may work in another 4 banger) Try www.thedodgegarage.com for more info about that turbo or any FWD dodge turbos.

A really good idea would be read the book "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell. you should be ablke to get one used off amzon.com for under $20. It'll teach you how to read compressor maps and such, allowing you to decide if it will work for your 305.

Post some pics of the turbo if U can and someone should be able to tell you exactly what turbo it is. Chances are its a Garret T3 but you never know. A single T3 won't get it done on your 305 unless you plan to run 15+ lbs. of boost. Even then it wouldn't be a good idea.

That doesn't make sense. If the single turbo is too small for the 305 you will never get it to produce 15psi of boost.

its a mitsubishi turbo part TEO4H. it is quite small and right now runs 8 psi, but it can be turned up to about 15. I might not even put it on my 305, i might just sell it to some ***** and buy something else for my car. I have a 350 savings fund if anyone wants to donate, then i am putting a vortech supercharger on that!.

Doesn't matter if you turn the boost up, its a compressor and its only going to flow so much air. If I were you, I'd sell it and save up for that supercharger.
