Nitrous & S/C?
I have an ATI charger at 9spi on my 383, hypeeutectic pistons, i am interested in running nitrous next spring/summer, i was told by a guy that whatever HP shot i get, its doubled on a boosted car, I.E. 50hp would be 100 on my car because of the blower, is this true? and will i have any problems wwiht running both nos and my charger? i plan on getting boost retard, colder plugs and running good gas when i spray. any suggestions/comments for me? im new in the nitrous world.

I dont think the 50 will be 100 but I say "go for it", what the heck its only metal right?
I'll be running about the same setup next summer. Superram on a 355, all forged internals, S/C w/ a 150 shot of nitrous. I hope to hit 9.99 in the 1/4 with everything. so I'd say go for it so I'll know if I can do it

if i do install NOS, what could happen: bent rod...not tooo bad, hole in piston, not tooo bad, broken rod, ok gettin there. broken rod, shatterd piston and hole in side of block and a broken crank...ok thats it, that is pretty bad, but realisticaly, i doubt the worst would happen, and if it did, its just an opportunity to UPRGRADE! he he he
With two poweradders on a car it is going to be very hard to tune and gett running correctly with out blowing something up. I think I would hold off on the nitrous until you built a stronger bottem end or aleast forged pistons. What kind of times does your car run?
I know a guy with a 2.0 plymouth laser running a turbo and nitrous on his bottom end. Im not sure what the boost is on the turbo or how much n2o but i have seen that laser outrun a mustang GT with a 9 psi paxton...how can a car lkike that get away with it.
Most turbo cars have turbo lag. They use nitrous to help them out of the hole until the turbo spools up then they let out of the nitrous. On a blower car you don't have any lag. If you want to use nitrous then go for it but I would only use a very small shot like a 25 or 30 just to cool the air down. I have a blown mustang that runs 8.60-8.70 @155+ and it seem like the tune changes on that thing everytime I bring it out. And I would hate to try to tune two poweradders.

running a very small dose of n2o would be smart (unless you have all forged internals) since a nitrous system would theareticlly be the perfect compliment to a S/C or turbo because its so cold,
I have a Book called the pros and cons of power adders, it tells what should be done when using multiple power adders and how to properly tune them and also has a chapter that describes what has been proven to work and what has failed
if I can dig it out (its in storage) I will transfer it on the computer and post it on the boards

My expereince is that adding N2O to a blown motor will have only slightly more effect than adding it to a N/A motor. This comes from the fact that the N2O is basically a chemical intercooler, which can help your blower's efficiency a little. It's definitely nothing like a 2:1 ratio, though.
I plan on adding a little tickof the stuff (100HP) to my Malibu next summer. STILL on cast pistons and crank.

I don't think I'd want boost AND juice on a set of those babies.
And yes in a forced induction car nitrous will yield almost 2:1 results.
