NMCA / Pro Fastest Street Car / The Clash of the Titans Super Street competitor Todd Moyer makes the switch from Big Block Nitrous to Small Block Turbo! Check out these early pictures from this awesome car.

Looks a lot like a big block to me Look at the valve configuration on the head...

either way thats one nasty combo. I thought your turbo was huge Guido

Could be a version of the SB2 head. I know there are a couple different castings available out there and some of them use the spread port pattern like a big block does.

I was thinking the same thing as you though when I saw it.

The two center exhaust ports are not siamesed.
Anyone else notice all the welding work done on the heads aroud the valve spring pockets.

That is exactly where I was thinking I would put mine if I ever make the switch from nitrous to a turbo. What I want to know is, where the h#$$ the radiator is going. To run in the NMCA, I thought the radiator had to be in the stock location.

I was wondering the same thing. LOL It doesnt even look like there is enough room for a SMALL radiator like a lot of the mustang guys use. *shrug*

And I wonder where they are putting the intercooler. In the dash?? looks like a stretch to get it there too. And that bumper cover cant be great for letting air into the turbo as close as it is sitting.

Maybe he will be running a pair of radiators split on either side of the turbo itself. Ive seen it done before so it isnt out of the question.

Unorthodoxed? Yes
Doable? Yes
Desirable? I wouldnt do it. LOL

Id have mounted it closer to the drivers side, and then put a smaller, thicker radiator on the passenger side.

I wouldnt even do it like that period. Id have turned it 90 degrees from where it is and stuck it in front of the motor.

WHEN I convert to a big turbo like that (down the road) that is what I will do.

I don't think that is a big block, there is no way to run exhaust tubes like that with a stock strut suspension. I'm thinking SB2 heads or some other exotic head design. Those tubes look to be around 2", so it must be one strong motor. Any notes on the actual size in cubic inches? Or the time it ran?

I'm sure they will cut a hole in the facia for the turbo to breathe but that is illegal in the NMCA also. Dan Millen set the ET record in Columbus but they disallowed it because of the hole. As per NMCA:

Ram Air - Any aftermarket or fabricated ram-air unit is allowed, but it must not be visible from the exterior.

That is considered Ram Air. Anyway, it is cool as H@#$!!!

I would probably do the same as Guido stated. Offset it towards the drivers side as much as possible and use a narrow and thick radiator.

I hope with the size of the heads and turbo it is the 468 cid sized small block one of my magazines this month had in the tech/write-in section. 'Dat would be shcweeeeet!

I've seen this car in person back when it was a nitrous car. runing high 7s.
About the heads, I saw a few SBC guys running Pontiac heads at Clash of the Titans, could it be them? Don't remember quite what they looked like (or could I see under the valve cover) just that the valve covers were huge like a BBC.
