Fuel Managment for nitrous

I need to know if this would work. I am thinking of getting a electric fuel pump that will flow more then plenty for my engine and nitrous system together and then if i get a fuel pressure regulator with 2 out ports i could run one to the carb and one to the nitrous system. Any opinions would be helpful and if you have part # that would make this work please list them. Thanks

A holley blue electric fuel pump comes with a 3 port FPR and works great.. It was enough to support my motor and a 150hp shot of N2O.

Cheers,

I holley blue couldnt suppy my mild 355 and the 150 hp NOS shot. My car would literally run out of fuel in the bowls and sputtter to a backfiring stop on the track until I added another pump. Gary Rohe (NMCA EZ street champion) slammed "the little blue pump" because it can only supply at 6-7# pressure enough HP for about 300 RWHP max total. It makes a nice nitrous only supply pump in my opinion though.

Heh, I must of got a good one or something then.. My blue could hold 9PSI at WOT with 150hp shot of nitrous, easy.... I don't consider my motor mild, but I also don't consider it to be wild either.. Should have been in the mid 11's on the N20 and ET Streets.

Either way, a better pump won't hurt, but a Holley blue will do what you want.

Cheers!

its certainly a possibility Ive seen some guys run a blue for years on the street and no problems and I have seen one sieze during the first few passes in its life at the track

What about limitations on stock lines? I have 460+ HP on the motor and I'm very weary about drawing my 150 shot's fuel from the rails. Any comments?

Yea, I think their quality control leaves something to be desired.. I was installing a blue on my friends Mustang and the darn thing was putting out too much pressure for the non-return style regulator to handle and it was spitting fuel everywhere.. We thought it was the reg so I swaped in another one (we knew was good) and the same thing.. /sigh.. Put it back in the box and put a Crappy Tire special electric pump on it to get us by until we could exchange/return it.

OTOH, I've had mine on my car for about 5 years and not a single problem.. Now it's found its' way to my brothers turbo'd hurricane.

Cheers!

with a return style system and the 45 psi operating (or higher with afpr) with a decent fuel pump I think you are in good shape. with the return style system less just gets returned to the tank.

JMatlock88: Wow, those are some pretty nice N/A HP numbers.. Can I ask what you have for a setup? Cam specs? etc etc...

I think what B4Ctom1 said about your fuel system is accurate.

Cheers!

If i run a holley blue for my nitrous and a on the block pump that i have now would i run into any problems. I am thinking that it would work really good because i wouldn't have to worry about leaning out the nitrous because it would have more then enough fuel to run off of and my block pump has more then enough for the engine. I would also assume that the stock lines will be sufficent for this setup i am only going to run a 150 shot. I just want to make sure that i have all the parts ready so in the spring when i put them on i am ready to go to the track.

that setup is just fine and very common.

Nice setup JMatlock88, have you had a chance to run it at the track yet?

Cheers!

No, I just finished it (finished it? It's never finished hehe) in October. By that time, it was too cold. I really hope to get it out in early Spring to run in Tulsa or Noble. I will probably just get one or two runs before I get the boot. (no rollcage) :lala:

same kind of question here. I run a pro series holley black pump and was wondering if spraying a 150 hp would be safe with the stock lines and no return>?<
