Will this work?
I just got my car back from the shop finally. And I have been looking into power adders for my car.
The deal
I have a 1987 LB9 305TPI 700R4 Automatic Trans.
I have a friend that has a T-3 Turbo he isn't going to use. Problem is I would have to fab the stuff needed to make it work.
I have also looked into the ATI Pro Charger kits. I know I need to convert my car from the V-belt system to a serpentine system. My question is this.
The ATI Pro-chargers claim they will work on L98 engines with a Serpentine belt system. ATI warranties them to do so. Since a 305 is functionally the same, is there any reason I couldn't use this system on my engine once I have done the belt conversion?
My engine has 77,000 original miles on it. I just had the lifters replaced and my mechanic says my engine is in great shape. I should get alot more life left in it.
Should I build up and use my existing engine? Can I use the ATI system? Would my money be better spent on a L98 (I can get them cheaper complete then most 350 SB engines) Are ATI's power claims accurate.
My real goal for the car is sub 13's in the 1/4 and street legal. I do have to keep the TPI setup due to emissions laws where I am.
Looking for advice on the best course of action. Soon I should have my income tax. I won't have all the money needed to complete this project but I can be well on my way. Sorry for the long post but I need some advice. I am not as knowledgable on these matters as some of you guys are. I have worked with N/A engines to some degree but I don't know alot about forced induction.

Anyone? All I want to know is will the ATI system work on my engne? An LB9 305 with a serpentine conversion. Or would custom building the T3 Turbo be the best route to power? I know I need to build up the engine a bit before the turbo. I just want to know if the ATI kit will work.

So I will need larger injectors to give it more fuel? Like 22#? 24#?
Anything I need to know to prep for this will be appreciated.
