um.........please guide me to the link then. :hail:

larry, does it prime after shutoff?

i never noticed it........only during startup right before you turn the car over. after the new engine swap and everything that went along with it i notice it doing the same thing after i shut the car down.

is this normal or am i just worrying about nothing?

I don't get it. Mine is no noisier than the in-tank pump. In fact, if I didn't know I had a second pump, I would not be able to tell just by listening to it.

I also used to run a Vortech T-rex in-line and it also was no noisier than the in-tank pump.

It primes only when the in-tank pump primes. How can it prime after shutoff?

IIRC, (it been so long since a heard the car run), the pump does run when you first turn the ignition to "ON" and also right after you shut the car off.

Willie, which pump are you running now?..i want to find something alittle quieter...call me when you got a minute.

Larry, I'll call you this weekend; tell you about my latest mods.

Maybe the pitch and tone of the pump is dependent on voltage. Did any of you guys rewire your fuel pump circuit to maximize voltage to the in-tank and in-line pumps? I did.

I'm waiting for you to come up to the great green north to show me how to rewire my pumps....The theme for camaro superfest is convertibles this year....plus a parade lap around Michigan International Speedway and free dyno runs

according to my DVM i'm getting 13.5 dc volts at the in-line pump.

and it's noisey...

larry, mine is almost the exact same...........however i have wrapped some insulated rubber around it which has quieted it down from the original.

i just wanted to know if you can hear it run a little bit after shut down the way you do right when you turn the key over just before starting..........it's been so long as well that i just want to make sure it's working properly.

I had the same set up and my pump was very noisey at start up and a for few seconds after shutdown. I replaced the stock pump with a Walbro 340 intank and removed the inline and things are quiet now.

thanks, i'm pretty sure all the booster ati pumps do that. i just wanted to make sure, it's been awhile and i didn't want something to be wrong!

as far as noise, the insulated rubber i wrapped around it really cut the noise.....not that i can hear it over the 4" exhaust any more anyway, but at startup and shutdown it doesn't hum as much.

thanks guys!

I am also running the inline pump and it is wired directly to the altenator.

The inline is noisy.

You can hear it during the initial turn of the key and during engine shut off.

It is recommended that it be used even with a high flow intank pump.

I have the speed density set up and the chip programmer insisted that I have the inline pump.

He had done chip programs in the past with only the intank pump and at WOT the cars would always run out of fuel.

Good to learn from others experience.

If you need to persue a new chip, contact Alvin at www.PCMFORLESS.com

He just finished tuning my ProCharged TA.

I had a bad orifice tube for my FMU and before we realized the problem I was driving Alvin nuts.

But we got it straight and now have a perfect tuned TA.

Good luck with yours.

Probably will be the least hassle.

A cheaper option is to use a 7749 ECM from a Syclone and repin the plug ins.

Many tech articles on this one. Here is a good article.

Have fun.
