volvo turbo?
hey, i found a turbo and intercooler set for sale from a 81-85 volvo. does anyone have any idea how big this turbo is and if it would be worth buying?
i have a 87 camaro 2.8-3.4 swap done and was SERIOUSLY thinking about a turbo swap. i know the piping is a major setback but i work at a machine shop so that would be no problem. one thing is, i dont know what to do with the electronics. i have no idea whats involved with that so while you're at it, can anyone help me out in that department too?

You'll need a fuel pump(walbro 307 at least). Injectors(28lber's at least/stock GN). A boost sensing fuel pressure regulator. You'll need a map sensor(for your boost gauge). You'll nee a chip burnt for you to bring the combo semi close then tune using timing and fuel pressure.
Gonna be a hell of an ordeal since the 3.4 isn't a performance engine(crank and rods may not hold) and nobody has done it before. The cost and time involved unless you are stuck on a turbo. I'd look into an eaton s/c. do a search on the power adder board about the eatons(pontiac GTP/Bonneville/lightning,svt cobra, etc.) There are guys that have done it on 8's I'm sure it can be done on the six.
Along with the eaton you'll need the regulator, fuel pump and injectors still.
