fuel cell for NOS

i am now running a 3 gallon fuel cell (from summit) for my NOS system that i have 110 octane union 76 race fuel in . my question is , will the fuel go bad after a couple of weeks ? the tank is mounted in the left front corner of the engine compartment with a holley blue pump. the vent on the top of the cell has a hose that just runs back a little ways and is open
any thoughts or opions will be welcomed

it takes race fuel a while to totally spoil, but sometimes from the time the fuel is poured to the time it is used, the specific gravity can change from evaporation of its lighter parts through the vent and it can oxidize and "sour" a tiny bit. My fav way to tell when its going bad is from the smell, but then again sniffing leaded fuel kills brain cells so what do I know...

I have a one gallon Jaz "Nitrous Enrichment" fuel cell like the one pictured above. I haven't mounted it yet but I was thinking in the front where the battery or charcoal canister was. I don't like the idea of cutting a hole there though....

I'd love to see the picture of how you mounted it also.

just for the love of all that is holy, make sure when out racing, DO NOT LET IT RUN DRY.

It wouldnt be safe nor NHRA legal to run it in the hatch. You need a rear firewall to put a cell in the car.

NHRA rules say (If I remember correctly) the cell cannot be mounted outside the "confines" of the frame or a frame made of 1" mild steel must be made for it. If you get into a bad accident and the fuel cell catches fire it'll be outside of the car and not inside with you. So ANY place but inside the car is better/safer. I've seen a few thirdgens have firewalls built into the hatch of the car but I don't think thats very fun to do.

NOSFEDGTA can you send me the picture? chris255@earthlink.net nobody seems to be posting it for you so I will. I'm real interested in seeing how you placed it.

I was thinking of mounting my cell like that but I was scared to have the supply line facing the front of the car ...although there is foam inside the cell. I was thinking of cutting a hole in that area so it could drop down and look nicer but I shed a tear every time I cut my car up.

Sorry I never posted the pics. I ended up getting a last minute flight and decided to go on holiday for 5 weeks or so and don't have access to that e-mail address.

Pics look good though.
