Even if I don't have forged piston? How long do you think the motor will last?

You shouldnt have a problem lasting if you motor/ignition is up to par, you also have to concider realistically how much youll be on the juice. It has no affect on daily driving the 99% of the time you wont be using it.

Itll be fun at first and youll use it a lot, but it gets expencive fast. Dropping $40 a day or for a few days fun gets old. Use less nitrous, buy more go-fast parts for perminant power gains(headers, cam, exhaust, etc...)

BUT keep the nitrous(full) there in case of emergency, the one time you want to really use it against someone, Itll be empty! lol

A good, safe rule of thumb I use is 50% of your naturally aspirated power, keeping in mind that this is assuming that all other variables are taken care of (timing, fuel delivery, bottom end strength).

This said, a car that makes 170 horsepower like your RS, I would run an 75/85 shot, although there isnt much of a difference between that and a 100 shot.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?????? your car should be able to take the same any stock third gen v8 can. I would say you could run a 125 shot safely, and possibly even 150, but that would be pushing it. 100-125 would be what I would do and you will see close to a full 2 second decrease in et's as seen from other users of nitrous on a 305 tbi.

I agree 100-125 should be ok on a 305 and 150 on a 350. the Nitrous doesnt care wheather the car has a TPI unit or a TBI unit.

as a sidenote I once read something written by a NOS tech that said keep stock 305's at 100 unless you feel extremely confident ...

Its a generic rule and he said his car is bone stock, I wouldnt run anything over a 75-100 shot on it.

Better to error on the safe side when giving advise with this level of destruction possible. So he wont come and complain to unknown-host "You said I could take 125hp shot and now my motor blew!!"

Also he will naturally think, "It ran fine on 100hp, lets see what it will do on 125hp, and keep raising it till he thinks he can't any more...

I agree. The other problem I see with a lot of people who are starting out running nitrous is that the car doesnt run as fast as they thought it would, so they decide to up the shot instead of tuning what they have.

First off, All I want to do is leave a really nasty burn-out in first then about a four to five foot strip when I shift to second With that in mind I'm putting gears in the rear and a shift kit.The NOS is more for the WOW factor. What I wanted with the NOS was at 55mph when I hit the button next to a kid with a import and he's revin the engine at me I look over and wave BYE-BYE

Just an idea but how bout leaving 40 to 50 foot burnout and leaving imports standing naturally aspirated... it wouldnt cost much .

so what are you saying I can do this already. I should tell you guys that I just got the car and it don't run yet needs a fuel pump. So I have no idea what this car can do. I have my friends with fast cars and NOS, But there in old hotrods and mustangs that have forged pistons in them.

Just an FYI before someone flames you for being a "Fast n Furious" guy....

Nitrous is not NOS. NOS is a company that makes nitrous kits, kind of like how you call any facial tissue "Kleenex" or how you call all ear cleaners "Q-Tips"

If you use NOS all the time instead of nitrous, people will flame. All they see when you mis-use NOS is...

"I need NAZZZZ, the big bottle, make it 2 of em"

"Your not ready for NAZZ, Ive seen you...you have a heavy foot, youll blow yourself to pieces" (which is one of the worst lines ever)

And I have always wondered why his floor pan fell out because he was running nitrous, Ive never had that happen

Sorry about that I'm 32 years old for me NOS was the first system to be on the market. I in no way am a F&F guy any idiot that thinks that junk is real is in for a wake-up call when they try it. When he said "Me and the mad scientist have to tear apart the block and replace the piston rings you fryed" and then when the cops came he drove the car So please don't flame me for saying NOS, It's just a habbit and easyer to write then Venom or Edelbrock. For now on I'll put NS ok
