Well she finally gave in to the pressure....

I lost #2 cylinder in the 305. I haven't got the short block out yet but it looks like the rings died, possibly a skirt.

The bore is out of round and you can feel irregularities at 9 and 11 clock positions.

Can't complain, she did what I wanted and lasted thru the summer.

Now on to building a new motor..

Picking up a 350 four bolt block in a couple weeks and probably will build a (like no one else has done) 383. lol

Sucks! But the sound of a 749 controlled boosted 383 is like music to my ears. Prepare for more traction issues I guess.

saturn sorry for the ignorance but what kind of compression were you running on the 305?

I have a 75 350 4 bolt block, TRW 2441 .030 pistons, and 400 rods with ARP bolts.

Still need a crank and machine work.


Heads will be the same ones on the 305, (350 l98 iron heads) that I will treat to the same porting that rhuarc30 did.

Intake will get the full hog out too.

Sorry to hear that Bob.. I killed number 7 in the ttz28 last week.. She's all unbolted, just need to yank it out, freshen it up, and stuff er back in for some more abuse..
