S-10 Blazer TTV8
S-10 Blazer TTV8
I've been lurking around this site for a few years and tought you guys might like to see what I've done to my Blazer. I know this is not a F body But at least the T56 and the 4bolt block were from a camaro. I hope you guys like.
Yeah, Its an early 70's 350 4 bolt main bored out to 60 over. scat 3.48in stroke crank and 6" rods holding SRP/JE flat top pistons. Over that are Dart 64cc aluminum heads to yeild a 9.5:1 comp ratio. The hair dryers are to4b Htrim 70 a/r compressor housing and T3 turbines machined to accept a stage V wheel. The exhaust is all dual 3" with Dynomax race mufflers (you guys would be supprised how quiet this truck is).. I just need to replace my wastegates with some else. I also need to replace my diff. I've got a 90's mustang rear end that I will most likely narrow and install after its beefed up abit.

I am very impressed!! Its a tight fit just for a V-8, and you stashed a couple turbos in there to. Very nice job. Did you ever see the Lingenfelter TT S-10? He took a transfer case from an SUV, behind one of his TT 427. He kept smoking the tranny. From the G-forces, the fluid would all go to the back of the tranny and burn the clutches. Anyway, you have done a wonderful job.
Yeah, I did see it a few months ago on some website. Thanks for the compliments. Right now I'm just having problems with my wastegate and I'm planing on replacing them with some turbonetic gates. Hopefully I'll also get the rearend swapted soon as well as the burned clutch. I'm thinking of using a spec clutch, but don't know with stage I should get. Do you have any suggestions?

With a T56, I would get the strongest clutch I could. That trans should hold the engine. With the little weight over the back, the tires probably will spin before the trans scatters. Get the toughest clutch you can afford.
Guido, the headers are for a full size truck that I got thru summit. I just cut them up and rewelded them to fit and added the turbo flanges.
the carb is a small 650 Holley I got from Ebay. The only real mod is the machining of the base plate which I had done by the Carb Shop in Ontario Ca. Other than that the power valve is a 3.5 and I am using 67 and 85 jets. The squiters are 28 front and 31 rear with 50cc front and rear pumps. Feeding the carb is an aeromotive pump & boost refrenced regulator and the stock sumped fuel tank.
Sorry if it takes me a while to reply. (I'm at work Shhhhhhh

) LIKE IT? Are you kidding me? It's freakin' fantastic! Really nice work. I wouldn't want to pull up next to that at a stoplight.
Now if you tell me it's a 4WD Jimmy and you run it in 4WD through the trasfer case at the track and I'll have to wipe the drool off my chin.
Mainly becuase I was thinking about building a "sleeper" from a 4WD S-10 truck using a SBC out front and a power adder of some sort (definitely not turbos or anything exotic- can't afford it). I'm told the transfer canse can take ome abuse but I'll be replacing half-shafts and CV joints on a regular basis.
I assume you did NOT hack up a real Typhoon to build this moster, right?

It doesn't look like it started as a Syclone, since it has a regular S-10 front bumper, no ABS and no side skirts.
John, I had two groves machined on each side with four holes to seal the shafts with boost. The inlet is set on the front passenger side of the plate which connects to the bonnet.
Damon, I wish I would of started with a 4X4 and I would of added the transfer case from an astro van, so Raven your right its a regular s10 tahoe Blazer. No way would I ever hack up a Thypoon to install a V8.

I don't know why, but for some reason I thought it was a pick-up.
Blazer/Jimmys, are the shizznit, seem to get decent "traction" until there is too much power.
