ATI Procharger users Please help!!!
Hey guys I am new to this forum.
I have a 91 Z28 and I want to buy an ATI procharger.
I am using a Be Cool Radiator, And the BE COOL DUAL FANS.
When I look at the tiny space between the fans and the accessories I wonder how the stock 8 rib Procharger drive pulley would fit, Let alone the 12 rib!
I'm sure I would need the 12 rib because I would like 15 PSI through my 396 ci motor, and have heard of belt slippage problems on the third gen ATI kits.
The ATI tech guy recomended the Model F1SC. He told me that it has a higher internal Step up ratio compared to the D1SC.
Here are my 2 questions...
Can you use the 12 rib belt drive with the Be Cool radiator and dual fans??? The entire radiator is shifted tward the motor.
Who has tried it???
At high boost levels how can you prevent even the 12 rib belt from slipping??? My peak power should be at about 6000 rpm.
Thank you for your help...
Lawrence

there is a good chance they might not or it might be hard to fit.
Tom,
Is that a 12 rib pulley you use? How much clearence do you have?
How much boost do you run?
Have you had any problems with belt slippage?
Thanks for your help..
P.S. Your B4c Kicks ***!!! I've never seen one in that color.

Yes I have had problems with it not giving me full boost at high RPM...........usually when the belt is more than a few months old, and usually around summer time when it gets real hot.
a new belt solves that.
a new belt solves that.
