quick guesstimate?? Nitrous/mph track times
I was running my old car and my best 1/4 mile time was traction limited 13.24@107. Had a 2.5 60' and a 8.6@86 1/8th mile.
I had 175hp Cheater system on it(not used at track) and wondered if anyone has an educated guess on what it might have ran with the nitrous? I drove it with the nitrous on the street for a few years, but never to a track. Just the MPH gain would be nice to know, as traction can vary soo much.
The worst part was getting beat by guys goin 12.9@102
With 107mph shouldnt that say "if" i had a decent 60' i should be pulling mid 12s at least? And is there a typical mph gain/hp of nitrous used as a general rule?

Yup, this was before the motor I had the one listed in sig(never got it to the track
) This was with GM #461 heads, 9.8:1, mechanical roller 255@.050 .575 lift and 650 DP with 275/60/15 regualr BF goodrich tires in an open rear end with 3.73's
It was a lot faster after the smaller roller cam and AFR 195 swap. I am possibly selling my car to get back into an S-10. I didnt build this car, so its not as fun for me.

im not sure what motor im running yet... i had a 2000 vortec longblock with a rod knock... sold it but im either getting it back, or im getting a good (but stock) running 327... i have a TPI unit, probably going 700r4, and i believe i have 4.11's(open diff) as my truck was originally a 4cyl, but havent actually looked yet, i have an LT4 cam (not hot cam) if i get the 350 back, if not i'll probably go with a comp 270h or 280h cam, and im running 245/50/16's eagle RH's... so im sure that atleast untill i get a posi i will be spinning that right tire for awhile... i'll probably be running around a 13.2 on the bottle, i wish i could do it without, but at this altitude (denver, co) i'm hoping for mid 14's N/A (stock LS1's run 15.0 up here)
quick question.. where did you mount your bottle? i dont wanna put mine in the bed cause it'll be gone in no time in my neighborhood, even if its only in there when im using it, i was thinking right behind the pass. seat or right in between them on the trans tunnel, but to pass the tech inspection i have to have the blow down tube, is that all i need?

I mounted the bottle between the seats on the trans tunnel.
2.5 60' : It had a th350 with a B&M Holeshot 3000. At the time it weighed in at 2880lbs + 200lbs with me, and it was my first time ever at a track. I didnt think I would be that nervous, lol.

Well, that would be about a 12.75 with a decent 60'. Really, that time/mph is not that far off for that crappy a launch which is kind of unusual.
Adding 175hp would have been about an 11.2 with similar traction or 10.8 with good traction at about 125mph…
Again, the 2.5 and how close the ET was to the mph don't really add up, unless it's not really that bad a traction issue but you just screwed up on the line (say broke the beam but didn't really give it gas till a split second later). With a 107 and 2.5 60' I'd expect something more like a 14.0 if you were really spinning hard…

I couldnt jump on the throttle for a while it would just burn, so I kind of rolled out. Every run after thatt I tried to leave harder, but my times would get worse! My 60' times went all the way to 2.6, I had no other track experience so it was a fun night out.
started with a 13.24 and went as far as 13.9@105, a few 13.5s and one other 13.29 was all i could get.
You think 175hp would really have put me into the 11s range even with terrible 60 foots? That motor was so, well, seemed mild. I drove through Michigan winters and all. It wasnt using any high dollar parts either : Gm forged crank, pink rods, TRW pistons, self ported #461 heads..the only expencive piece was the solid roller. The tranny was a stock th350 with a B&M converter and a stock rear end.
Makes me want to get this 400 done faster, and get another set of AFRs ASAP. Those really woke up that motor, well I also added 1 point of compression and went to a smaller roller cam(248/.555 112lca at the same time.
All I want is low 12s- high11s anyway i have to do it.

I ran 119mph with a stock LT1 car (even stock exhaust and 275 40 17 GSC radials) with a 150hp shot with the Jacobs NMM set to top out at about 70%, really about a 100-110hp shot. That's enough for a mid 11 (I actually ran a low 12, but managed to kill the clutch and break an axle on that pass).
I see absolutely no reason why you shouldn't run faster with more motor, more N2O, more tire and a much lighter car, do you?
