Got the chance to run the new motor!

I got a chance to run my new 406 last week and the results are great!!! On motor it went a 6.94 in the 1/8th @102mph I sprayed it with a 150shot and it went 6.30s @108. I am still trying to get my converter right. I have tried 2 combos so far and I think this last one will be the right one for what I want it to do. The last 2 were just to tigh out of the hole. In all I am satisfied so far. I will be spraying 200 then 250 in a week or 2 . I am looking for some 6.0's.

Car weighed 3417 with me in it and a full bottle. motor is a 406cid with 12:1 comp, afr heads, custom solid roller, action plus "tall intake and a custom built quickfuel 950 cfm carb

Looking at a mid 9sec pass. Good work. I've enjoyed reading up on your setup and following your progress, keep us posted.

I went a 6.38 and was spinning out of the hole. I run some 28x9's and need to step it up to some 28x10.5's to get it right. My old 350 would 60ft 1.44 and this new setup is making lots more power so I ma trying to get the right converter and tire combo. the best I can get out of it is a 1.50

One of these days I'll figure out how some of you with what should be a relatively heavy car manage to get them so light. I've owned a few 3rd gens now and I've never managed to get one under the low 3400# range without empty (and I'm about 300# so my race weight is always over 3700-3800#)

That weight is with an 8 point cage, full spohn suspension, a moser 9in rear, and me weighing in at 230. I have removed the from bumper support, rear bumper support, rear speakers, added a fiberglass hood, aluminum heads, took all the stuff out from under the carpet front and rear, skinnies in the front and draglights in the back and I still have the tock 40lb wing on it as well. It weighed 3185 without me in it.

My friend Seans weighs 3218 with him in his and it is a 86 camaro z-28.. It weighs 2998 without him in it.

I'm usually between 3520-3550(with me in it at 250lbs, probrobly right around or just under 3300 empty)depending on how much gas and what tools I brought with me to the track and my car has similar mods such as the bumper supports but I run stock GTA wheels with 245/50R16 up front and 26x11.5-16 ET Streets out back.

But my real reason for posting, the rear wing really weighs 40lbs? Didnt know it was that heavy, wonder how heavy the glass replacements are? Makes me wanna ditch my wing scince it's starting to look like crap anyway.

The nice thing about the gta wheels is they are light compared to any other wheel out there. Besides weld, bogart, etc. The rear wing is probably pushing 30-40 lbs easy. Its a solid rubber piece. The aftermarket fiberglass one is 7-10 if I remember right.
