Twin turbo iroc going to the track Sun.

Well its finaly ready to drive. Car idles good and at just 6 pounds of boost It should have little trouble with my friends LS-1 cars. One is a 99 formula basicaly stock 13.5 @106 street tires and a broken shifter and a 01 Z 13.0 @111mph full exhaust. This the only thing I can compare it to since these are the only cars around that run good.I havn't driven the car realy in 1.5 years untill now. Engine is a bone stock L98 with a holley stealth ram intake. I'am going to run it at 6 pounds and dump a little 104 and go for 10 pounds. We have the FAST ecm dialed in real nice thanks to a very nice guy that tuned the car over the internet using the dataloger. Hoping for some big numbers out of this wimpy L98, track is open all weekend so when the rain stops I will be at Beaversprings dragway. I will get some updated pics of the system I built and get some video of the car
Basic parts
Twin t3/4 turbos new
S-10 headers flipped
Big FMIC (jims coolers)
HKS bov
Tial 38 wastegates
3" down pipes
4" single exhaust with dynomax straight muffler, very quit
stock 350L98 with a stealth ram intake stock TB
72# inj.
FAST WB ecu
Big fuel sytem etc etc etc
6 speed
10 bolt 3:73
The best part is the car is very quite but when you rip it all you here is the swoosh and a loud BOV :hail: :hail:

Thats a sweet set-up. I plan to have something similar, but with a single turbo. Can you get pics of how your exhaust is set-up, and if possible sound clips of the BOV . I love the sound of a good BOV. Good luck at the track Sunday.

Nice setup, I think those 72's might be a bit overkill with a stock L98 scince they should support over 1000hp on a V8, but I guess your planning on growing into them.

Good luck

Steve

yeagh this project has cost alot more then I planned on and the engine is the last thing to be built. I almost have all the funds ready for a stout 383. Credit cards are very tempting also

Hey superirocz

I'm hoping to be able to use the flipped S10 headers as well but I had a couple questions for you.

Primarily, how come you cocked one off to the side like that? Is that the way the header forced you to mount it or why was that done?

And second, did you buy your ECU retail or what'd you end up paying for it? I'm hoping to be able to use the 749 but in stock form it doesn't seem like its capable of idling with 50 lb injectors.

I cocked the turbo for fitment reasons. You could definatly get it more even but I did it to save room for the filters when I go with bigger turbos. Doing it again I would of got them perfect but as far as function goes its fine both colletors were cut of at the same point and flanges welded on. The ECM I got a steal on it brand new in the box for $1300, shop went out of buisness and had one left for are cars. The computer is awsome but alot to learn without some help. Basicaly if you can use a 749 and tune it for real cheap like a few hundred go for it but if in the end you have a $1000 into it with all the sofware and stuff, just get a FAST and remeber the FAST has a datalog witch is extremely heplfull you can log any or all your sensors Target AF actual AF MAP kpa etc etc. I think if you shop around you might be able to get one for $1900-$2100. Keep in mind I did everything over kill so with the new motor and turbos I have all the parts to support a 1000hp
