some questions about my turbo setup
some questions about my turbo setup
i have a stock 350 carbed that i was to set up my turbo kit on before i finish up my 383
im running 14.0 at 100mph with no turbo hooked up
i want to get the 350 down to 13 flat, maybe high 12s
and i want the 383 to get high 11s or low 12s the 383 is a 9.0:1 ratio with trickflow heads forged bottom end
the cam will be up to comp
i have a kit that is almost complete for a single turbo
i have the piping and intercoller
i need a turbo and bov and wastegate to finsih up the setup
my fuel system is ready
please help me figure out what turbo to use and what bov and wastegate
im not sure how much boost to run
thanks gents

for the turbo i would say something in the T-60 - T-70 size, for the bov any will work, just the bigger the rubo and more boost you run the bigger and better BOV you want... and i've heard of people using multiple BOV's in high boost apps
for the wastegate just look around and find one thats rated for your at or above your expected HP
the amount of boost you can run depends a lot on the tune you have, and how efficient your intercooler is, and if its apropiatly sized, i'd say start at like 6 psi, and go from there, turn it up at your own risk

there is no need for a BOV- this gets argued about, but they usualy only come equipt in manual transmission cars. yours is an auto- the only time youll get compressor surge is when you slam off the throttle, i have 130K on my stock GN turbo with no BOV, i get surge all the time- no shaft play or anything. bov's are really only worth it when your letting off the gas to shift.
