Fuel Cell For Nitrous

Well I just picked this up off of ebay. I didn't realize that they don't put any of the fittings or anything in it, so I had to put them all it myself. A couple minutes later, this is what we have....

This is a dedicated fuel cell for the fuel that will be mixed with the nitrous. I know the nitrous comes out of a nitrous bottle.

WTF.

did you buy that off of competitioncoat?

I ordered the same exact cell from him, and now i'm not getting any response to my emails.

I had be corrosponding with him about what fittings and stuff i wanted, then i sent the money to him, and it's been about a week or more now, and i haven't heard a word from him. I've sent him 2 or 3 emails and haven't gotten a response.

Wonder whats goin on

Eric

looks great, but why the 2 fittings on top? how are you going to mount it? on mine the hood clearance is REALLY close on the fittings as you can see in the pic. a sepreat cell is the only way to go for a big shot.(now that i've tried it both ways)

I like the strap but how are you supposed to lock your craftsman toolbox now without that bar?

Here is one I did for a customer

ZupmanZ28 - Yes, I got it from competition coat. I didn't have any problems with it. Now that I think about it, he did take a little while to ship it out and had to ask me a couple of times about the fittings. But obviously I got it. I would say it took about 2 weeks for the thing to show up at my house. See if they have a phone number or something and if you can't get in touch that way, then I would take some action

Automec - The 2 fittings on the top are a return line and a vent. I plan on mounting it on drivers side behind the headlight (in the area where the vapor cannister was). The cell is too tall right now so I am going to have to cut that tray out of there and sink the cell into the body. I will take pictures when I do the install.

How big of a shot are you going to run?

I thought about doing something like that but I will only be running a 100-150 shot since I have a stock bottom end. For a 100 shot I should be safe with a good fuel pump plumbing the line into my FPR correct?

Well I have an NOS cheater kit, which is adjustable from 150-250. But I will probably only get up to about 210.

I wouldn't go above 100 horse on a stock bottom end. It will probably hold up, but I wouldn't take any chances. Although, that could be just the excuse you need to tear the motor out and re-build it.

Well right now I'm not looking for any excuses to rebuild my GM goodwrench engine that has 13k miles on it. I think I would definetly be safe with a 100 shot if the fuel is there. I've been thinking about getting nitrous for awhile but I'm kinda scared to. I know nitrous is safe if done right but for some reason I'm still scared lol.

Ya, I hear ya. I was a little scared about it too when I first got it. But if you start off small and get the feel for it, and also do some research, you will be fine. You can't beat the Hp/$ that you get with the stuff. Where else can you add an extra 250 hp for under $500? AND still get 20 something miles to the gallon on the way home.

I had planned on getting the edelbrock performer nitrous kit (50, 75, 100 jets). I could start it at 50 and work my way up to see how it will do.

Everyone I have talked to thinks I should be safe with a 100 shot. I'm getting a set if l98 heads, xe270hr cam (maybe...or just my lt4) then my intake and stuff. So I don't think a 100 shot would push my stock internals to far. I think with a real good fuel pump I should be ok with fuel delivery for a 100 shot.

I have a mallory 3 port fuel pressure regulator so I had planned on running a line from that into my fuel soleniod. With a walbro 255lph or a holley blue pump I should definetly have enough fuel to feed it.

I'm leaning towards getting a carb pickup for the tank and running a holley blue pump. This would do away with the return line, provide more fuel, and make thinks alittle easier for me in the long run. Plus I do not need the high pressure the walbro puts out. I would be fine with the 14 psi of the holley blue with a FPR. Plus I can get a good discount on the holley pump from work.

I will also be running a MSD 6al box. So I will have a spark drop rev limiter. This should also help safety.

I planned on running 2 switches for the nitrous. First a WOT switch for sure. This ran in series to a toggle switch that way I can turn it off and go WOT without the soleniods engaging.

I think I have everything covered if I do say so myself. I want to get the kit but I'm still nervous. I think once I actually used it a few times and it felt ok I'd get over the scare.
