Dyno2003 Help, D-1SC Specs...

I'm trying to do a mock up of my engine with a D-1SC ProCharger on it.

Dyno2003 is asking for the following specs which I don't know:

Island Flow: xxx cfm
Impeller Speed: 65000 rpm
Peak Efficiency: xxx %
Surge Flow: xxx cfm
Belt Ratio: xxx
Boost Limit: 10.0 psi
Pressure Ratio: xxx
Internal Ratio: 4.10:1
Intercooler: xxx %

I need the above based on a D-1SC with a 1600mm x 50mm x 8mm cog belt, 73-Tooth Crank, 38-Tooth Blower Pulley = Approx. 10psi (so I guess that's my boost limit), and the Twin Intercooler setup which both mypontiac and willie have.

Thanks!

Alex

EDIT: I've edit my post to fill in which variables I have found so far.

I'll take a stab on some of 'em

Island Flow: xxx cfm -- Dunno
Impeller Speed: 65000 rpm -- Well in DD2000 they wanted the speed at max efficiency, not max rpm, try 50-55000
Peak Efficiency: xxx % -- 75%
Surge Flow: xxx cfm -- dunno in DD2000 they only needed that for turbos
Belt Ratio: xxx --- totally up to you, I forget what it ships with, but you can change it, try between 1.5 and 2 to 1
Boost Limit: 10.0 psi
Pressure Ratio: xxx -- Is supposed to be pressure ratio at peak efficiency, try 2 to 1.
Internal Ratio: 4.10:1
Intercooler: xxx % -- Read the directions in DD they give good values for these, for air to air try 50%

Problem is I called ATI to get a compressor map to get all these values, but nobody there could seem to figure out what i needed, the one and only time i've been dissapointed with their tech support.

Thanks!

Your're right, surge flow only for Turbo's.

Everything is looking good so far, looks like all I need now is "Island Flow" (whatever the heck that is ) and the "Belt Ratio". I was hoping you guys could tell me that since I posted what belt and pulleys I would be using...

Well I guessed 3.85:1 on the belt ratio for a 9-10psi boost and then I thought about the D-1SC's max air flow being 1400cfm but Dyno2003 wouldn't take a number over 999 so I entered 850, the same as my TB air flow. Well the chart it shows now doesn't change whether I enter 1cfm for "Island Flow" or 999 cfm so I have no idea on that...

Is there a compressor map for the S/C being discussed?

If I remember right, they want the middle of the highest efficiency island of the compressor map for "island flow"

Hi 92GTA,

I do not understand why they need this information from you.

You will need to get a new ECM (as you know) from a cyclone or other turbo GM to read the change in pressure. Or have someone make you a new chip to work with your stock ECM.

What specifically is Dyno2003 doing for you that you could not do yourself?

Your D-1sc kit will include everything you need. Other than a new chip for the added air intake.

If you run a 73/38 tooth count you will be running 51196 blower RPM @6500, Probably more than 10 psi depending on your engine.
ATI does not give blower maps out but does say max efficiency is 5000 rpm under max blower rpm.
If you are using a regular computer you will need to use a fmu. If you choose to run a Syclone computer you will need to run the proper injectors for your combo, and you might have to beef up the injector drivers depending on what resistance injectors you are using.
Do a dd dyno for your engine then you can run that number thru a boost/horsepower calculator to get your *best guess*hp.

My goal with my GTA is a 12.9 1/4 ET. Using Dyno2003 I can get a better picture of what all of my mods will yield before wasting money on possibly the wrong parts.

I plan on using the $60 with a 730 wired as a 749 and Accel 30# injectors. I'm already aware of everything I will need.

Thanks!

.
OK, how do they suggest that a prospective customer
calculate perfomace? Ouija board?
Is the compressor similiar to any turbo - with a
published compressor map?

For people that ask I would imagine they ask for your combination and suggest from there. There stuff is not like anybody elses. so they are not telling.
