New times for the 406!

I have a new best for my car. Mods are in the sig. I was running a 100 and 125 hp shot and the track was pretty slick since it was street car night and the street tire guys were going through the water box and getting the track all wet. My 60' times ranged from 1.7 to 2.1 on ET street tires. It just depended on how wet the track was. The staff didn't really try to stop treaded tire guys from driving through. Oh well. Here is the time slips. 1/8th mile track.

100 hp shot

.621 --------------reaction
1.852-------------60'
5.014-------------330'
7.17---------------ET@594'
7.65---------------1/8 ET
93.30--------------1/8 mph

125 shot

.624 --------------reaction
1.782-------------60'
4.872-------------330'
7.004-------------ET@594'
7.47--------------1/8 ET
94.79-------------1/8 mph

Another 125 shot

.740 --------------reaction
1.744-------------60'
4.862-------------330'
6.983-------------ET@594'
7.454-------------1/8 ET
95.35-------------1/8 mph

Nice times, that's roughly an 11.5 in the 1/4. Car looks good too.

Not trying to start anything or offend anyone but 11.50's on nitrous with an AFR headed 406 doesn't really seem too fast to me

Unless I'm missing something...

You need traction and horsepower to make you fast, although it looks like with his setup he should have both. My dad just built a shelby cobra replica (sorry ford haters!) that weighs 2400lbs and puts out a legit 600hp. The fastest I, or anyone else has gone in it is 11.77. The ET calculators predict that power to weight ratio should be somewhere around a 9.38. That's what happens when you try to hook up all that power with 285 street tires.

Oh, and I would say closer to a high 11 for 94-6spd. I took a run wednesday night in that cobra that matches up pretty well to the numbers he posted above:

.625 R
1.887 60'
7.823 8 et
95.6 8 mph
11.971 4 et
119.88 4 mph

You are missing something. The track was slick and was like skating on ice. As I posted above, the treaded tire guys were tracking water all over the track. It got so bad that night that they ended up shutting down one lane and then everyone could only do by-runs. Not only that but I set my timing down really low for the nitruos runs. More than 2 degrees per 50 hp. Also, this is a very streetable car that I would drive anywhere. The track is over an hour away from me and I have to drive 65 and 70 mph on the Interstate to get there. There were trailered cars there slower than me and they ran uncapped headers. So I'm pretty pleased with the performance. With a prepped track I think that the car will go 7.20's easily. With the 150 shot 6's are possible. A high 6 is equal to a high 10 in the 1/4. This car will go 6's very soon.

Update: I went to the track today for the "KING OF STREET" classes. They would let you test and tune between rounds so that's what I did. This track was stickier than the track that I posted about before. The 60' times show that. Anyway here is what the exact same setup does on a track that isn't watered down.

1.625---------60'
6.505---------594'
6.952---------1/8 ET
100.85--------1/8 MPH

As you can see the traction was way better. Also, I think that my engine is loosening up a little. It's pretty fresh. I'm due for my first oil change.
