Installation manual for Vortech?

I just purchased a never installed complete vortech kit for a TPI. The kit is a few years old, its the B trim compressor. Does anyone have an installation manual for this or one similar? I would be happy to reimburse you for time and copying.
Thanks

Good luck with it. The B-trim isn't a horrible compressor. You should see about 5-6psi boost.

Here is a link to the manual:

http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/...s/4gf218im.pdf

Theres a few things I'd like to add:

1) Take the oil line supplied and sell it. Buy a braided line and some adapters and run the oil feed line to the back of the motor.

2) Don't splice up your fuel feed line. Sell the booster pump. Instead, replace your in-tank pump with a high pressure walbro unit. 255lph or better. Sell the vortech supplied pump.

If you decide down the road, you want to get into prom tuning and such, we're here to help.

Yeah but then he will run slower. Overspin an A or B trim and the efficiency goes soo damn low you need to pull back timing and add about 75% more fuel.

Been there, done that, bought an S-trim. Now i'm thinking Y trim.

I just saw a Y trim on www.nmraracing.com/forums not sure what discharge you need. Are you running Vortech brackets? How much for you S trim? I need to find some brackets soon I guess..... I don't know much about the B but remember a few cars of old running 10's, mustangs though...

Thanks for the link. That was just what I wanted. I was already going the Walbro route, My stock pump is having trouble keeping up now. I will definitely be burning chips as there is really not much left of my stock motor. I think I will be Ok with 5 or 6 lbs. If I need more I will just use my liquid intercooler. I would guess I am in the upper 200 N/A at The rear wheels right now as it will make short work of my LT1 corvette. Geesh I hope I it doesnt run 10s. The rest of my drivetrain will come apart for sure!

Heres my setup:
89 IROC-Z TPI
All the free and cheap mods you can think of
355 Cubic inch 9.5 to 1 compression
Fully ported corvette aluminum heads w roller rockers
214/224 duration camshaft
Fully ported stock base and plenum
SLP runners
Edelbrock headers
Hooker Catback
700 R4 with shift kit
2200 RPM stall converter
3:42 Posi Rear
A tickle of Go Juice
Any suggestions or guesses?
Thanks For all the help.

If you are gonna do prom tuning, then I'd sell the vortech FMU on ebay and use that money for some larger injectors. You can run $60 in a 730/749 like the rest of us. Tuning boost is fun.

Sounds like a decent setup you got there. What are you running for heads?

With that compression, i'd start off around 20d advance and see where you go from there. It's better to lock the timing in around 3k, then go up 2d after max torque than it is to go all the way up and retard underboost. (spikes EGT!)

I am running the D port corvette heads with Street Flo style valves and some pretty extensive porting. I am already running the 24 lb LT1 injectors. You dont think they will keep up? The NOS system is a Wet plate system so the injectors arent an issue as far as that goes. You lost me a bit. What is $60 in a 730/749?

The 730 and 749 are ECM's. Both can run the $60 code. $60 is a modified version of the cyclone and typhoon code. I.e, 2-bar map sensor, sees boost, etc. Thatway you can tune fuel and spark under boost, rather than relying on some aftermarket devices.

The 24# injectors IMO won't be enough. My old setup was around 8.96:1 compression with 12psi and 36# injectors were not enough.

Those vette heads should work nice with the boost.

Bang a hole in the side of the oilpan and then thread it for the return line? Does this actually work and not leak? I can think of a whole lot better ways to do this. They are all more work so I might do it this way if it works better than it sounds. Experiences?
Thanks
