Ditch the hole idea!
Intel you swap out the TBI for another fuel system like TPI
your never going to get it to work, TBI doesn't see boost so there's no real way to tune it to make any power.
let me put it this way your better off with a leaf blower .
this whole topic (should have its own board) has be tossed up and down on the power adder board and on the TBI board since the begainig of time, just trying to help you, there is i think at least one member that has done the "forced induction" but only runs high 12's not worth the time or money he put in to it, if you really want to keep the 305 there's so much you can do with it! TBI is great but not something you can pull HP out of as easy as you can many other fuel/induction systems.... check the TBI board

I second that. Build an NA 355 right (read: not like mine is built) and you will have more than enough power for less money.

Not true ....

There is no technical problems to super/turbo charge a TBI. It is tuned in exaclty the same way as any other speed density ( using MAP ) system. Most turbo installations use a MAP sensor. ( You do need a 2-bar map sensor, not the stock 1-bar if you want to tune it 'the right' way)

If you want the maximum power you need a free flowing intake, but that is a whole other issue.

If you put 8 psi boost on two stock engines both will get about 50% more hp. If you start with a 170 hp 305 TBI you get 255 hp. If you start with a 230 hp 350 TPI you get 345 hp.

If you swap the intake to make more power, then the TPI is a restriction too ... It is all a question of what yoy want to do.

If you want to turbocharge your 305 TBI then you face exaclty the same technical problems as you would if you started with a 350 TPI.

The important thing is to tune it right and avoid knocking ...
