L98, nitrous, go big or go home...
I've got a stock L98 in my 1991 vette that I am going to spray with a 200 shot this coming week-end. I'm using a Jacobs N20 mastermind to progressivley bring the N20 in. It'll be on the dyno, so I'll get it on video.
You guys think I have any chance of it holding together?

make sure your ignition is up to par or you`ll misfire.retard your your ignition timing accordingly.Monitor your fuel pressure.Since your using a progressive nos spray, i think u should be ok.

Have you run any nitrous through this motor with your DIY kit? You might want to start small and check plugs just to make sure both solenoids are opening and that the fuel pressure is there. 200 horsepower will break your heart awefully fast.

It's not really a DIY kit, I just call it that because I pieced the whole thing together. It's mostly NOS stuff; Super pro shot solenoids, 2 NOS fogger nozzles that I machined into the throttle body, and a NOS bottle.
I have a PLX in car wideband hooked up to an autometer air fuel gauge to monitor fuel drop off/lean condition. I've shot 150 on it quite a few times without any problems. I just don't trust the accuracy/refresh rate of PLX enough to spray it with 200. I want to be on a dyno with a wideband right there. Any leaner 12.5:1 and I'll shut it down.
Anyay, the goal is 650 RWTQ. Wish me luck!
Last thing, has anyone ever ran into fuel fall out issues with a big shot and the super long runners of the L98? What about the fuel maybe sticking to the walls of the runners?

BTW, I did something similar using a JNMM, NX GenX and 225hp jets...
But I never got to full in, where I figure I was getting about 140hp I blew up the rear and the clutch

Can you post some pictures of the T/B with the nozels installed, I have been tring to come up with a mounting place on mine. Thanks and good luck
I also talked with a guy from NX and he said his boss was running a 200 shot on a stock 305 with 120,000 on it. Nozel was in front of the T/B.

I've done right at 200 with no data logging on the track, car's still alive just fine, I would go out and do it again today. Did you ever get this done? I'de be interested to see your dyno numbers. BTW I ported my runners, plenum, and base and used 80 grit bead blast to keep the fuel from sticking to the runners, it seems to have worked well.

Wow, back from the dead.
I never did it. I am still hitting the car with 150 shot pretty regularly, but I've never had the nerve to use the 200 shot.

WOW my apologies, I have no clue how I found this old of a thread, it was at the top of the list I was looking at. I think I was searching and didn't realilze what I was looking at. Jet that thing to 200, you've got 3 more years of service out of it since last time, that motor can't owe you much more
