58mm NOS TB??????
hey guys, i've been thinkin about goin with nitrous and herd that the NOS TB plate was only for a stock TB and i was thinking about going with the NOS 58 mm TB with built in passages, but its for a LT1 and i was wondering if it would work on my car...88 GTA 350 tpi...
mods when nitrous will be hooked up
1) zz9x cam w/1.6rr
2) superram or BBK SSI (when it comes out)
3) trickflow 23 heads cnc chambers and .600 lift
http://www.jegs.com//cgi-bin/ncommer...09&prmenbr=361
other wise i was going to go with 52mm or 58 mm for just the motor....did plan on going twin turbos later in future.
thanx for the help
dave
also, if anyone has herd anything about the BBK ssi system let me know, i herd it will be out b4 06 but i wasnt sure..
thanx again

who said the the plate for the 5151 fits 48mm TB's only? 58mm owners go with the same 5151 that stock TB owners do.

I am not positive about the newer 5151 plate with the spray bar but the older style 5151 plate with dual foggers have 52mm bores.

well the new ones dont have dual foggers, they have two spray bars with the same number and dimeter of holes as a NOS "cheater" plate.
the 5151 also have bores that measure 2.325" (59mm)
whereas 58mm (2.280") TB's actually have a bore diameter of 2.275"
here I checked My accel and my edelbrock 58mm TB's with a photo to help you see:
Accel 58mm w/5151

Yes, thanks for the pics B4CTom1. I had never seen the bores on the plate with the bar - good to know.
