not that many people ride up front anyways.. so if they do, they will just have to keep their legs off of it....It cant get that freaking hot to burn?

It wouldn't really burn them it just got hot and you could touch it with your hand but imagine your wearing shorts. and the side of your calf touches it. That skin is just a little more sensitve. Also I dont think the digital one will get hot my 6al is analog.

Screw the passengers, you're better off with bitchy passengers than a excessivly vibrating, wet and hot MSD box (no sexual induendos intended)

From what I know the 6 AL has the one rev limiter plug-in. My box had 3 or 4 chips included. You have to buy either more chips or an add-on adjustable dial unit. My 6 AL didn't do to much, but I did notice a little better MPG, by just acouple miles. It alone will not provide outrageous power increases.
The digital has all the adjustable dials built in and is able to do more advanced things like startup timing retard and step retards for power adders.
Here's the manual for them in PDF form:

Is there a rule of thumb as to maximum distance that the ignition box can be away from the coil? I have a Digital 7+ and was thinking of puting it in the center glove box, with a fan attached underneath circulating air. I just didn't know if that would be just to far from the coil?

I don't really see a problem. The coil comes off the distributor not from the box anyways. I've seen people mount them all the way up by the radiator or in front of it, so that would be about the same distance. Always use a rubber grommet when going through the firewall.
