Simple wastegate question....

Almostready to bolt everything up fora test run, and i just wanted to know how to hook up the wastegate since the instructions are all in Japanese.

There are 2 ports on it for vacuum lines. Since I am NOT running a boost controler or bleed valve at this point, to i 'T' them together an run them off that same refernace line, or do I simply block the top one off and only have on referance line going into the bottom of it?

So close......

Reference line to the bottom one

I hooked my top one to a port directly in front of the turbo. That way, I get a correct pressure difference across the turbo itself.

Right now I dont have a port on the turbo side of the TB. So can I just use the same ref point as the bottom one?

I am not running a intercooler and its all solid induction piping so there should be very little, if any pressure drop.

no no... I mean that top port goes to the piping/air filter, immediately IN FRONT of the turbo.

You do NOT have to hook it up, though. Just run a boost reference line from the manifold, to the bottom wastegate hookup.

Righteo... so what is the purpose of the top hook-up exactly? And how does it opperate?

The bottom port goes to the pressure/boost side, and if the spring is the correct rate you don’t hook up anything to the top one. If you want to run more boost then the spring pressure then you connect the top port to the boosted side with a low pressure regulator in the line, which adds a specific amount of pressure delaying the opening. For example, if you set the low pressure regulator to 5psi, it will raise the pressure that the wastegate acts at by 5psi….

If you're not going to use the top port of the wastegate, make sure it's open to atmosphere. If you cap it, the wastegate won't open. Don't ask me how I found that out.

Or if you hook it up directly in front of the turbo, you will have EXACTLY what your wastegate spring is set at, as far as pressure differential across the turbo (my preferred method)
