My Cold air intake with procharger
I was never happy with the way the ATI just stuck an air filter on the back of the procharger sucking in all the hot air from over the exhaust.
so I finally did something about it.
I made a cold air box and reused the original cone filter that came with the supercharger.
Since I have a Formula I have the cowel area in the hood just had to add a mid 80's TA grill in the opening.
I then welded up a mandrel bent tube to put the air cleaner up above the valve covers under the cowel area.
Then I mocked up a box to surround the filter
I then welded up a sheet metal version and covered the outside with cool it thermo shelding.
I still have to add a gasket around the top (on order) to seal completely with the hood.
I am still thinking about what type on insulation I can place on the inside to further keep the heat out.
So far I notice a drop in intake temps while crusing that I did not see before.

Very nice. I have a similar setup I made. It covers the complete width of the hood cowl over the plenum. I used some G-10 (plastic covered fiberglass) I got from work. I looks ok, but I would like to get one made out of aluminum.
I will post some pics when I finaly have the car put together.

Wow... not only is that motor beautiful, it looks like you could eat off it! And your craftsmanship is A+ work!
Do you have a thread on all your mods or track times? I'd love to hear more about it!
