need advise on spraying technique please

whats the best way to use a throttle activated nitrous system? i've always been afraid of pushing it, and have only used it a few times. i would always slowly get the rpms up over 3000 in 3rd gear, with the throttle at about 2/3, then floor it once i passed 3k. i always let off it, and did the same thing for overdrive. can i leave it floored through the shift, or can i spray it before 3000 rpm? use it in 2nd gear maybe even? i have 3.73 gears, mod list in sig.

I have used a 75hp shot of dry nitrous right off the line
Did not hurt

Any more than that, I wouldn't do.

As long as the throttle is wide open and the motor has the ability to rev quickly you can spray it all you want (including during shifts). Just dont spray it while in a high gear at a low speed.

I've sprayed my car off idle with a 150 shot a few times testing it out... no problems other than the car almost going into the woods

Launch the car and then hit the botton above 3k. Should be ok.

Try spraying a 3k, if that is good spray at 2500. If it still works and you have traction, spray at a lower rpm till you find the sweet spot!

I always spray thru shifts too!

I launch at 2K. As soon as I see the final amber light my foots to the floor and the switch is flipped. I've had no problems whatsoever with spraying a 100 wet shot like that and neither has my dad he runs the same thing but on a carb instead of tpi. In my honest opinion, start spraying where you feel comfortable and if you don't feel comfortable spraying through shifts then don't.

I spray a 200 out of the hole off and have hit it coming off of foot brake stalled at about 1500rpm. With your Torque converter I wouldn't be worried about spraying it low as long as you have the WOT switch and are gonna stay into it. I wouldn't recommend spraying on a shift going into 4th gear if your running a 700R4, it's gonna make a short life out of the tranny. keep on the spray during a shift is fine as long as you don't hit a rev limiter hard or mis-shift.

Don't be scared of it..

If it's your only car don't use the spray all the time. Spraying on the shift with a 700R4 unless it has been upgraded is kinda tough on them from what I've had to deal with. Now I have a built 700 and I get about two years before they have to be freshened up.

Best et so far is 9.98 @ 137 so it has a hard life

I do it and this is my only car. I'm also in highschool so if I break something I'm screwed. Don't be scared. That's what safety precautions are for anyway. WOT switch among other things. I know they'll save my neck if I have any problems. Just start small if you're scared and work your way up.

I have a question. When you have a full throtle switch and a manual trans. When you lift to shift is that bad? I am not bad *** enough just to hold it to the floor and shift.

Bad for e.t., but good for the engine and trans.

I used to roll my car out 10 feet and spray it at the track. No problems except for traction.

Ok another question does the nitrous keep spraying as long as the full throtle switch is engaged?

Full throttle switch means
100% throttle=on
95% throttle=off
