alcohol injection

i did a search and found only minimal information.......

i'm pretty sure i want to use a good heavy alcohol mix for my f1r blown 383.......this is going to be just shy of 30psi someplace at max blower RPM i believe......my goal is to make 1000hp, and be safe (reasonably lol) while doing it.

just wondering what kits, homemade and purchases people were using and what seems to work best as far as a mix.....and if anyone found an advantage to using straight methanol (which i can get by the drum very cheaply).....although it does eat rubbers seals for breakfast.

Having previously sold theres on a retail level, check out Aquamist.

I believe the website is www.aquamist.co.uk

Really tough product, works really well.

I'll be using it myself with the blower set up.

Take a look at these three:
www.smcenterprises.com
www.coolingmist.com
www.alkycontrol.com

I've never used any sort of alcohol injection kit scince I bracket race and dont need another variable to worry about but have heard good things about those three.

Steve

i have used the alky control kit on my TA, my grand nash, and installed it i and three other vehicles. I only have experince with that brand of kit but its got me hooked and i recomend it to everyone. The owner of the company is super friendly and extremly helpful. You can check his stuff out at Alcohol injection | Alcohol injection systems | DIY alcohol injection kits.

I myself have running 27psi on the nash with straight methenol and pump gas. No problems yet.

It seems that everyone had an easy time hooking everything up. Do any of those kits actually have a pump that has seals that are designed for methonal or alcohol? None of the sites say that they support it.

Yes. Julio Don at alkycontrol.com replaces the original pump seals with methanol compatible seals.

Julio (aka Razor) is a tech advisor at turbobuick.com and wrote the following article. He knows his stuff and I wouldn't buy from anyone else:

TurboBuick.Com - Tuning the Alkycontrol kit

I have put a kit together for my car. The reason is that alot of the kits are not big enough. My kit is staged and and I have alot of control over the jets.
It depends if you can have the chip turned to your car. I have over a grand in my setup. If you want to talk to someone that knows alot and makes custom kits, call and ask of George at (816)333-6582.
