Technically there is a supercharger available for any application.. it's just a matter of how much effort you want to put into the project. I think a really cool 3.4 project would be to turbocharge it. You could also use a small centrifugal blower.. just have to make custom brackets and go to town with it. You're on your own with the fuel injection mods.. at a minimum, some type of supplemental injectors or increased fuel pressure and on the wilder side, perhaps a DFI or Fel-Pro ECM.

Be careful with those 60 degree V6's though.. that entire line of V6's (2.8/3.1/3.4) were known for their lack of tolerence to performance applications.

If I had money to burn, I'd love to build up a 3.4 just to turn some heads though.

Are you nuts? The 60* has a reputation for it's utter indestructability. Plenty are over 200k miles with little more then standard maintenance, and they're modded, raced and beaten on.

Yeah...

Guess that explains the huge selection of aftermarket hop up parts available!

Just because people don't turn them into street beasts doesn't mean they aren't good engines. Not all of us can be lemming 350's...

For real though, there are quite a few parts for them, Just don't look for V6 F-body stuff, look for V6 Fiero. Same engine, lots of parts available.

I have a 90 Lumina with the 3.1 and I beet that car to ****. It has a 115,000 and it runs better then the day we bought it with 82 miles back in 90. Even took it to the track last year and got a 17.4 not bad for a small V6 with that amount of miles.

:::snickers:::: and a Lumina is lighter then an F-Bod.

As for the 2.8 to 3.4 I say it's a waist of money, but to each his own. You need the 2.8s lower manifold due to sensor locations. While you have it off the old 2.8, gasket match it. The 2.8 manifold has a vast amount of space closed up. If you want to port the 3.4 heads, just do the bowl and gasket matching. That vertical vain found in the heads is used to increase velocity. Upgrade valve springs and install a better cam with lifters while you got the block out. Make sure you install all the 2.8 sensors. You can use the 3.4 manifolds, which ever ones you use do some mild porting and grind off the casting welds, which restrict air flow.

On to the SC, Victor Performance made a 3.8 to 3.4 retro SC kit. However it costs about 4 grand. If you got the money and want to be that different go for it. Just remember your going to need bigger injectors and a custom chip them. Starting to sound like a money pit huh? That's why the average man just throws in "lemming 350's"

I don't belieave Victor Performance has a website, however somewhere on the net resides a scanned 3 page article on it. Check over at CamaroZ28, I'm sure someone knows where to find it over there.
