What is the best blower for a 305 TPI motor? ATI, Vortech, PowerDyne....etc?

I don't think there is a "best" blower. It's a matter of taste but I personally believe both Vortech and ATI have quality gear driven units.

At the time I decided to sell my Paxton, I decided to go with Vortech because of their reputation. Then ATI introduced their self-contained blowers. Well, that changed my mind in a heartbeat. I loathed the thought of having to run oil lines to the blower, including punching a hole in my oil pan for the return. I also realized that you seem to get more for your money with ATI, considering the cost of the respective kits are approximately the same, but you get an intercooler with ATI.

I have a bud with an ati p600b on his car('95 cobra)... this thing is very very loud below about 2000 rpm. Its a nails on a chalk board kind of loud to me. But some like the noise. Other than that, its a strong, reliable high quality setup. The hardest part of the install was the hole in the oil pan.

If you dont like noise, look into some of the newer units out there that have helical cut gears.

i say go with ATI. i went with ATI because of the facts.

i have never actually seen a car or a timeslip for that matter with a stock vortech TPI car to run 12s.

when i was researching i came here and there were a ton of people who had a stock TPI 350 with ATI and they were all in the 12s. FACTS ARE FACTS RIGHT?

BTW, my blower is for sale and i live in chicago. maybe we could work something out

I agree with prochargedIROC. Every TPI car I have seen at the local turbo shop ( www.turboconnection.com ) has run 9psi with full timing and no band-aids, and they consistently run deep into the 12's stock. even the lowly P600B can push 27lbs of boost and support up to 700 hp (or was it 800?). Anyway, all I can say is Procharge it. .
