Neo-supercharger

Ok, Superchargers work on the concept of ramming air down the throat of the engine for better combustion of fuel.

Theory: What if you connect an adjustable speed fan between the air filter and air box? Will it give a few more ponies? Will this throw off the air-fuel ratio? If so can that be off-set by adjusting the a/f ratio via O2 sensor?

Has anyone tried this or have a better idea of what might happen?

it's already been done and used by road-racers.

You'd need a very large, powerful fan to move a large enough volume of air to make a difference. The load from the motor on such a fan would probably exceed any gain you'd realize.

A supercharger actually compress the air not just push air through the engine. That is where the heat comes from when superchraging. It's not just air being blown into the engine it is actually compressed air. Hope this helps.

Yeah, don't try it. I already put a lot of thought into the "leaf blower" supercharger, and decided that wouldn't do much at all. The reason being, even the powerful gas-engine l. blower only had a flow rating of like 300 cfm, about half the flow rating of the average carburetor.

So you're saying if I buy four leaf blowers and build a custom "four into one" manifold for them and plumb it into the front of my throttle body, and rig the pull starter ropes on pullies to the drivers seat, hmmmmmmmm...
