Because Geocities sucks. Go to http://www.geocities.com/ric-77/memphis/ .. and then type http://www.geocities.com/ric-77/memphis/twin_turbo.jpg into the address bar, and it should load. You have to load the main page before pics will load.

Cool, thanks, I got it to work.

Boy, now that is what i call a tight engine compartment. mighty tought to adjust the valves. i am figurin' you probably dont want to have a solid lifter cam that you have to adjust every race.

How did the car run?

I once saw a TT car that had the turbos sitting over the valve covers. it had hydraulic lifters just for that reason...on a 9.0x car iirc.

Hey guys,
I just got back from Memphis (f-body.org natl gathering) and had a blast! I'm a top notch product tester (i.e. I can break anything!) so I broke down and bought a trailer. On the trip down, I stopped by at Art Housers (rearman.com) and had the 9" rebuilt, 3.73's tossed in, etc... Road racing was a blast, and the brake ducts worked great. The spool did not hold me back road racing or autox, so I'm hooked

Drag racing at first sucked. I was running 14.2@100, and wondering why. Doh! There was a band clamp in the way of the throttle arm, and I was only getting 2/3's throttle. That being fixed, I picked up 4 mph. Damn, still not close to the 114 I ran last fall.

Myron Cotrell (of TPIS) lent me his wide band o2 for the day, and as soon as I hit WOT, the gauge pegged below 10! I guess that explains the black smoke. We tuned it to 12.7:1, and it felt a ton stronger. Since David Houser (awesome big block third-gen from TX with the Road Tech Tubular K-member and coilovers) blew a tranny line, racing was over for the day.

Next morning, went back to the track, did a 2nd gear burnout, and clicked off a 12.993@111!!! Woo hoo!!! I finally got in the 12's Best was a 12.821@109 that day, and best mph was 113. This is running 5 lbs (instead of overboosting to 7-8 in the fall) on a stock L98 w/ super ram and 52mm tb. Not too shabby

I decided I wanted a better time, so I tried some Evil Drag Radials (only 16x8's, and I have a 9" with 35 spline axles, so everything must be good, right?) First run I didn't heat them enough, another 12.8 w/ a 2.0 60'. 2nd run I did a nice burnout, revved it to 3000, and... clanka clanka clanka! I snapped the driveshaft in the middle. There are a ton of pics floating around, I just don't have the url here at work It was twisted into 2 piece. Back on the trailer she goes! I think it's time for a Denny's nitrous ready shaft, or a metal matrix. The 1LE just can't handle it. I'll post pics soon. Later!

A.

Wow thats a hell of an improvement andris!

Seems like everyone is running 12.82

I ran a 12.82 @ 112 last week
-=Jeff=- (formerly of chase racing) ran a 12.82 @ 109 in his 89 vette
some guy in the TPI forum ran a 12.82 @ 110
one guy on camaroz28.com ran a 12.82.
lol

Must be the number to run.

Sounds good andris! get that shaft fixed and get her back out there for some more track time!
