Supercharger for 87' Formula Firebird 350

Does anyone know what would be the best place to find a supercharger for a 87' TPI setup? Everywhere I check, they have them for 88-92 but not for 85-87. If I converted to a serpentine system would I be able to use the 88 up systems?

Yes. I converted my 86 to serpentine so I could put a vortech on.

Paxton makes a kit for 85-87 but Paxton is really lacking in quality so I would spend the extra to convert to serpentine, and get the better supercharger.

Thanks for the info!! I have been asking "locals" about this topic and they would just shrug.

I was going to ask the same question. But now how do you switch to serpentine drive. I have an 87 T/A. Just wondering if there is some tech articles or something out there.

Here is a tech article:

http://sethirdgen.org/serpentine.htm

and here is a place that sells the parts in a "kit" form:

OK three more questions:

When I do the change, will the factory air box on my 87' Formula 350 clear the AC compressor?

And which side does the battery sit on in an 88 up firebird, on the passenger side or the drivers(like mine does now)?

Last, is there anything else I will need to change before I can install a vortec for the 88 up cars?

your airbox is gonna be gone, so there's not gonna be any clearance problems there

i don't know on the battery personally...i have an 87 camaro, so i'm not the one to ask.

when you go serpentine, you'll need a new or modified alternator, and if you're planning on keeping ac, that might be a challenge.

Battery is on the driver's side. Do they sell serpentine without air pump?
