What CR are you lot running?

A stock 350 runs at a 9.3:1 correct? Did any of you lower it or did you just build it to support the boost?

I run 10#'s of boost (intercoooled) on a STOCK 350 tpi (9.3:1 comp)...so far no problems (knock on wood)...except the trans is feeling alittle soft now...this winter i'll be getting a new 700r4 and a new converter

Though i do use 24# injectors and a FMU and i do have a good exhaust system

Ditto on what Maniacc said. I'm running the stock L98 engine (with Super Ram intake). I have been getting some significant blowby (as seen from the oil on valve covers dripping out of the breathers), but so far nothing catastrophic. This is with the turbos set at 5psi non-intercooled, and now at 7 psi intercooled (going to nine in a few weeks once I get all the instrumentation set up). I'm running 30 lb SVO injectors and a normal AFPR set at 58 psi (at 0 vacuum).

Maniacc:
Nice site.. love the maro "next to water" pic. What kind of FMU are you running? Your intake looks like a stock TPI, are you running a piggy back system?

I am going to build a 350 with stock specs, just have the pistons forged and a good crank (what do you recomend?) will i be able to use stock rods?

askulte:
How easy is the super ram to tune and program? Is it a lot of running while recording data and then tuning?

Is there an FMU that allows you to use the stock intake and ECU, but when the stock system isn't able to handle the task, a piggy backed system kicks in? Basically i don't have the money for a SR but will need the versatility.

GMI FAST:
Can i see some pics of your Turbo install?

Omega,

Yes the intake is completely STOCK, no porting has been done. The FMU (fuel management unit) came with the ATI kit, and also comes with a vortech kit, most are adjustable, to aid in tuning, all they do is raise the fuel pressure under boost conditions, this allows for the use of stock injectors, a better way to tune is use a programmable engine management system like, accel DFI, Speedpro, or Motec, and use properly sized injectors.

You can use the stock rods, but if your going up the boost, (you'll always want more boost) i would recommend something alittle better.

just to let you know, the FMU has nothing to do with what intake you are using or ECM

have fun

I just checked Jeg's they sell a Accel DFI Variable Injector Controller. They lead me to beleive that it will run with a TPI system, is that right?

Omega,

The DFI variable injector controller, is used for fine tuning each cylinder, and needs to work with an already exsisting DFI unit, it will work with the stock ECM, but you will have to have a custom prom burnt, then you'll really have to know what your doing when using the VIC to tune your engine,

there is on other option, that i did forget to mention, you could also ditch the FMU and use a Carroll Superfueler for adding the extra fuel needed under boost conditions

goto http://www.mrgasket.com there is all the instructions and manuals for the DFI system, its under the accel digital fuel management link, you'll also need adobe reader to view these pages

RMK - i have yet to take the car to the track, but but i have raced a ram air t/a and a camaro SS and WON!!!, so my best guess is that i'll probably run around high 12's, and that would put me somewhere in the neighborhood of 350 hp.

Thanks maniacc, I looked through the Typhoon page a little... interestng stuff. I like the superfueler idea. I am trying to stay away from custom burning chips, but i might have to give in and do so. There was no price listing for the super fueler, do you or anyone know how much it will cost?

Thanks

I am running 9.2:1 compression.
Have not had car to full boost yet but will probably see 10-15psi as I had 13psi on last year's motor.

Guido, are you running forged pistons and crank? I am not sure if i should go with a cast, forged or unobtanium crank.

Maniac -- Please, please, please tell me that your intercooler setup didn't eat as much ground clearance as it looks like it did. I've been racking my brain to try to come up with the ultimate (*read - least ****ty*) location for it when I implement my twin turbo setup that I'm planning. I've thought about this location, but I just seems like it would take up too much space down there.

Import eater,

It looks lower than it really is....the scoop only hangs about a inch below the front spoiler....i have yet to scrape the intercooler scoop, but i still scrape the plastic air dam on everything...
