Need advice for a new high hp build-up!

Well I have a 350 ready for a new build-up soon and I'm just looking for some imput as to how to build it. Its been bored 0.030 over, clearanced for a 3.75" crank, and decked. It was just rebuilt a year ago but I'm going to strip it down and rebuild it with a blower I think. It already has a forged steel crank but I'm going to replace the pistons and rods. For rods I think I'm going to go with some 5.7" Eagle ESP forged H beams. 4340 Steel and recommended for small blocks over 700hp. The pistons I was thinking about getting are domed JE Forged Ultralights. Now I'm curious as to how much boost/hp this bottom end would take? I want this motor to be somewhat streetable but to get as much hp as possible from the bottom end. I was hoping it would tolerate over 1000 hp but I don't know. I plan to put as big of a blower as possible on this thing like a 6-71 or 8-71. But for now I'm just curious as to how much boost I could put in this thing. Thanks in advance, theres probley many more to come!

What is your compression ratio going to be with the domed pistons? You're going to want to have low compression to be able to run high boost to get you to your power goal. How are you going to regulate fuel and timing under boost? Tuning is key to keeping an engine together, along with a strong bottom end.

Domed are not a good idea for a boosted motor. You want your compression low so you can throw more boost into it, because that's the only way your going to get the really big hp numbers out of it. And plan on spending some serious $$$ to get it all going. A streetable 1,000 hp motor is not an easy thing to do.

That's my fault, the ones I was looking at buying are actually an inverted dome. Since they are JE I can get them customized quite easily, unless you think there is some other brand I should go with that would hold up better. I was planning on running between 7.8:1 and 8.5:1 for the CR. For heads I was going to ask some opinions because I'm not exactly sure what would be best for a blown motor with a decent amount of boost. I want aluminum for sure though. I realize this will be an expensive process but I don't expect to have this thing even close to running until next summer at the soonest. I'm selling my turbocharged 96 eclipse that should sell for about 14-15k and should leave me about 2 grand to play with for the time being. What should I go about for a tuning device with something like this? I'm yet undecided if I want to for sure go with a weiand roots blower or possibley a centrifugal procharger with a blowthrough set-up carb. Either way I want this motor to be carburated for sure, I've had enough computer tuning with the eclipse so I want a classic powered raw muscle monster motor. As for cost, I would like to keep the total spending among heads, blower, pistons, carbs, and cam around 5k if possible. Thanks much so far though,
Dustin
