Seeing boost
Long story short, Im about to wrap up my turbo install of a BBS kit I bought a year ago. Its my first dive into turbo's.
One quick question is seeing boost. I havent gotten to drive the car much at all yet due to lack of time and shaking out a few bugs. Sitting idle and just reving the motor up... should I see boost? I hooked up an Autometer vacuum/boost gauge. At idle I see vacuum and when I rev the motor up to say 4000 rpm the gauge goes to zero. I never see any boost. Does the car need to be under load to actually see boost?

Oh yeah most of the smog stuff is gone now. Right now Im using a modified ARAP bin to get it going. Ive got a ton to learn for tuning and then determine whether to switch to a Sy/Ty ECM or go MS or something down the road when Im ready to crank the boost up. I built the block all forged to handle it and its right around 8.7:1 compression. Taking baby steps and hell with little time to work on it, its taken awhile to get this far.
