Twinturbo Setup - Some Noob Questions

Hi!
I'm planning to give my 350 tpi some extra hp+tq.
So I decided to put in a pair of turbo's

My goal is about ~400+ rwhp.
Probably my Tranny wouldn't withstand that power, right? (700R4, 20k mls old), so I'd had to replace the tranny. Which one would be the best for me? 4-Speed is minimum! I have 2.73 rear end and want to be able to go 170+ mph. Fuel Economy is important for me, too.... ( ~6.50$ per gallon premium fuel.... ) about 17-22 mpg would be great.

One more question: Does the rear end withstand that power??

What boost level would be ok for a stock tpi engine?
Which turbochargers would be best for my goal?

thanks in advance

you will love a T56, 6 speed, 3600rpms at 170 with the 2.73's and a stock size tire.
it would be a a dog at lower speeds though.

the rear wouldn't like it, if you bolted sticky drag type tires on it would expolde shortly after. it MIGHT live with street tires.

intercooled right? on a good tune i would say 10-12 psi.

If you just want to cruise at 170+ MPH and will not beat on it off the line or at speed then the parts will hold up fine. If you want it quicker on take off and beat on it then you need a new trans or have yours built properly.
Take a look at the Master Power T-70 turbo.

170+ MPH and good fuel economy do not mix. Which one do you want more?

fuel economy is much more important
but i don't "cruise" at 170mph....
normally about 80mph...

i only want to be able to go that fast...
maybe a little bit faster than a porsche 911, that would be perfect
0-60 in under 5sec and a low 13 - mid 12 1/4mile time...
Actually my best time is about 15sec, not bad for that rear end, hm?

with 400 at the wheels you should run damn near 11's, with 3.23 in the rear and a t56 you would turn 4500 rpm's at 170 and it would be much easier to drive around at lower speeds.

t3/t4 would work as twins, but i think a single MPT70 would be cheaper and make the same or more power.

sounds interesting
i'm a little bit confused about ebay's turbo kit offers....
t3/t4 kits are easy to find, but that mpt70... just some kits that are really cheap... probably reproductions/fakes ?? don't know...
at ebay germany i've found only turbos for many german cars, but most of them are diesel's with less than the half of my engine's displacement.

Keep sniffing around , you may find a nice kit out there. The only one I knew of has stopped makeing them But if you do find one , toss it up here to be mercilessly picked apart ( good thing )
