Common for code 33 on boosted MAF setups?

Common for code 33 on boosted MAF setups?

Im trying to diagnose why I keep setting a code 33 on my turbo setup with a MAF. According to the manual its set when 45 gps of airflow is seen when TPS is < 1/4 throttle and RPM < 2200.

Ive gone thru the checklist to diagnose the issue and everything is checking out ok. This reading seems tight to me and it seems to throw the code when slowing down. Is it possible that its coming from the turbo spooling down when I let off the throttle? Alo, I dont have my blowoff welded on yet but Im only starting with 6# of boost to get this thing running.

I am making my own chip, is there any settings I can tweak to help avoid this code?

It tends to register a second or so after it actually occurs whenI have seen it on boosted cars.

From more GPS at lower TPS settings to the turbo "sneezing" when u let off the gas.

U can change the actual parameters for the code and turn the code off completely if u desire.

I would rather leave the code active and modify the parameters for your combo, so u always have a safety net and will know if something is wrong.

Course if it was me, I would throw away anything to do with the stock MAF setup and run a 749 ecm :-)

Yeah I plan on going 749 or megasquirt when I add an intercooler and start cranking the boost this winter. Still trying to determine which is better to run with. Right now Im leaning to Megasquirt.

Which specific parameters should I tweak to allow more GPS?

Ok think I found the setting. MAF High Diag Error Threshold. Ill try bumping it up to around 55 gps and see how that helps till I can ditch the MAF.

It happens whenever you are blowing more air thru the maf even on n/a cars. I raised mine to 75 on my 383 miniram car and never saw the code again.

I would say that the 33 error code would be nearly a certainty with boost.
You should program out the 33 error code.

Just caught this post as I have the same prob's.... I know it's been awhile... Anybody have success yet w/programming it out?

What would be the adversity in programming out?

I was able to stop it by bumping the MAF High Diag Error Threshold up... but this forced my hand to go ahead and swap to a 749 SD setup which I was planning on anyways.

great so this is something I have to look forward to . I think I will just tune it out ... as I am just running like 6 psi untill I can get a better tuneing setup ...like a fast or DFI.
