Intercooler interest???
I sent my intercooler out to a guy who wants to start making a TTA kit but I figured it might be usefull to some of the turbo guys on here that want just a nice intercooler and will make their own pipes. The guy who I sent it to is already making intercoolers for turbo buicks, and is making them to the same specs as Charged Air Systems(CAS is the original manufacturer of these intercoolers a few years back). The intercooler will fir Trans Am's but I am not familiar enough with Camaro front bumper cover/supports to say it will definatly fit though I'm sure it can be made to work.
Here's a pic from when I was first installing it with the bumper cover off, the bottom of the intercooler is even with the bottom of the radiator support:

I dont know the specs or exact size of the unit and cant measure scince I already sent it out but I will measure it when I get it back in a few weeks. I dont know what it will cost and have no affiliation with the guy who will be making/selling them, I just sent mine cause he wants to make a jig from mine(and I want a spare intercooler
)
As for the performance, I've personally gone 10.50 @ 128+ running a 70mm p-trim turbo @ 27psi boost and 3640lbs raceweight. This is on a 3.8 buick with a stock block and rotating assembly(less .020 pistons), mild cam, mild ported stock heads, and stock intake w/65mm throttle body.
It's not a done deal yet but I figured I'd guage some interest so I can tell him if he might have a few customers over here or not.

Re: Intercooler interest???
I dont know what it would cost and as of right now I dont think he's planning on making any more than what we originally planned because 4 months ago there seemed to be no intrest. I will contact him though and find out.
With the front bumper you cant see it ecxept from underneath. There is an air dam that works with this intercooler(and replaces the stock air dam). You can see it under my front bumper in this picture, it's painted black.

Thanks for clearing that up
I havent owned a Camaro in a long time and dont remember what it's like under there.
Speed bumps suck even on a stock car but I dont think its too low for street use, I've had it on my street car for the last 6 years and over 30K miles and only on very steep driveways or gas stations does it pose a problem(and going in on an angle solves that problem).

You could do the side exits but I don't think it is neccessary. I had to cut holes in my air dam to run my tubes through and they never scrape over speed bumps.

So the firebird in the 2nd pic , has the intercooler that is shown in the first pic ? It looks like it hangs lower than the front bumper . I just don't want any tubes sticking out underneith it .

Re: Intercooler interest???
This is the one in my basement. I had it mocked up, I cut the holes in the stock air dam(air dam fit close, but IC was on top of radiator) but never ran it so I cant give any feedback. It's an ebay item..

Re: Intercooler interest???
If they could make it with side exits like my old FMIC that would be awesome.
